Transition classes are tough. You have very little time to make character evaluations, and there are no in-person football evaluations unless you recruited a player at your prior stop. The goal is not to throw away a cycle and find some players that can help turn your program around.

Mario's 2022 class showed up on Saturday. Jaden Harris was the ACC defensive back of the week. Wesley Bissainthe made several tackles. Isaiah Horton had four catches for 70 yards. Anez Cooper started at RG. Matthew McCoy played at LG. Ahmad Moten had a TFL. Markeith Williams made a critical PBU.

Interestingly, the six-lowest ranked members of that class look like hits: Horton, Harris, McCoy, Moten, Colbie Young (caught a TD for Georgia) and Cooper.

Who on Manny’s staff discovered copper/mccoy? I know tRob scouted Harris. Don’t recall how we landed on Horton. Seems like ages ago.

Good job by CiS on Jaden Harris. Almost universally praised commitment

@DMoney do you remember which guys were on board before hand vs how many did we identify/pursue after? Just curious.

Big Coop is a bonafide NFL football player. Doesn't matter who recruited him or why, more importantly, having Mario and Mirabel developing players and its the player that matters. they are coaching them up but the players is putting in the work. Big Coop is massive.....did you all see him finish his block on Fletchers leap over the pile? thats big boy football.

**** Miami has had more success with 3 stars than 5 stars since 2018. I might be wrong but it sure feels like it.
You are right, but we haven't had a ton of 5 stars since 2018. Lorenzo Lingard in 2018. Your boys Leonard Taylor and James Williams in 2021. Francis Mauigo and Samson Okunlola in 2023. Am I missing anybody?

I think you got them all. I didn’t double check. So Miami is 0-3 out of the 5 stars you mentioned. Francis is looking good and can’t comment on Samson.

I looked this up the other day to recall when we picked up Harris. Some decent returns on our evals and results in consideration of everything. Think coach's mother health was also in flux at the time

Cooper was all Mario, I don’t think McCoy was committed to Manny but we were recruiting him with Manny I believe..Horton was committed to Manny also
Yep definitely Mario for those guys

Wes is another one. The timing of his commitment left it up for debate on the board but from what I was told Wes was not coming here if Manny was the coach

Could be wrong but that’s how I remember it anyway

It's numbers and percentages.
We've signed (5) 5*.
Let's see what Samson does so we'll call it 1 out of 4 with Francis doing good things.

We signed (64) 3* in that span.
Have we had (16) 3-stars who we've had success with in 7 years?
Probably so, but It depends on the definition of success.

Think Wes committed on Saturday and Mario was announced as Head Coach on Monday. Was sort of an open secret from what I remember
