Let's deal with the facts: talent-level isn't what we have led ourselves to believe. We're Canes fans so we identify with the players and probably opened the year thinking they're better than they are. If you check the various mock drafts, you won't find a Cane in the first three rounds. And the recruiting gurus may have oversold the last two classes - don't believe anyone has emerged as a difference-maker other than Duke, and he was banged up from almost the opening game.
Having said all that, there is no way our defense should be thrown around like a freckle-face rag doll - which has been the case the last two Saturdays against VT and Duke. Played hard against a more talented FSU team. The last outings, though, were a disgrace and inexcusable.
