I think the diamond with more playmakers on the field at the same time would do great things for this offense. Have Duke, Gus and Hagens all in the backfield at the same to create some serious matchups, or throw herb/coley/dorsett in on of on one of the wings and opens up the possibilities drastically.

That's possible but curious because of the recruiting impact that a win against UF could (will) have.

On another note, apparently Fishbein is pretty cool with Coley. He went on record a while back (I think when he was first hired) saying that he expected Coley to run an uptempo offense and also that Coley really liked the pistol.

I would love to see the pistol diamond formation. That is not an easy formation to stop at all. Especially if you start doing some read out of it. Like take, zone, triple option etc., makes you very versatile and fast.

If he were a baseball manager, he'd make almost all his substitution patterns based on the numbers. As I mentioned in another post, I guess that comes from his coaching roots (tree).

I'm going to see if I can find it. I'm almost certain it was after the UF game. Golden was praising Coley for buying into things and resisting the temptation to open things up. I think he even talked about possibly wanting to open things up but as the game went on and he saw how the defense was playing it was a bit easier to stay the course.
