The Oline and Crawford against VT

Consigliere is scared of VT, i'm not, simple as that.

Miami's offense is getting over 100 yards on the ground versus VT, simple as that.

Nobody said anything about being scared. We're talking about their Run D being good and whether they have been challenged (Which is clearly EVIDENT by their opponents). It's a called a conversation, people discuss topics and voice their opinions. Nobody used the term scared (other than you).

Side note: 100 Yards is not good for a team, so not sure how over 100 you are talking about.

OVER 100 YARDS is a vague term.

If you ran for 100 yards per game you would be the 115th team in the nation (http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/23/p3)

I asked you to be clear. How far over 100 yards per game?

who said anything about per game.....? i'm talking about against VT. You want an exact numnber, Miami is going for at least 125 yards on them.

Miami is ranked 34th nationally in Rushing offense (198.3 YPG) w/ only 2 ACC teams ahead of them GT and FSU.

Boston College isnt even in the top 50 (57th).

I don't care about BC. I just asked for a specific amount, why does everything have to be pulling teeth with you?

In general 100 Total Rushing Yards is Bad. 125 Total Rushing Yards is also pretty bad.

So in 1 game 125 yards rushing is bad?... please say NO.

For a team or a player?

BOTH and i'm talking about against a "good defensive team" not Duke for example....

let's say Dallas Crawford gets a 125 yard rushing and 2 TDs against VT and their "great defense." Lets say Eduardo rushes for 25 yards... Stephen Morris gets sacked twice for a total of -15 yards.

So the total is 135 yards rushing against Virginia Tech.... that's bad?

Thank you for speaking english and completing a full thought. Remember I am slow, so help me out.

In general, if any ONE player gets 125 rushing yards....that is good.

In general, if we have a total of 125 rushing yards...that is not good.

Against VT (specifically), if Dallas himself gets 125 rushing yards...that is excellent.

Against VT (specifically), if we have a total of 125 rushing yards...it is above average against VT (they let up 102.7 YPG) but I don't think it is very good but decent effort. Also depends, how many times we rushed the ball?

I will say this, we will struggle mightily to win this game if we only run for 125 as a team. I dont see Morris going over 200 so if we cant get to our team average 198 or close I would be surprised to win. I would like to see us mix up the run and pass equally and effectively. If we can manage to get to around 400 yards of total offense, we win going away. If we do not, it will be a dog fight till the last minute and possible overtime. Just my opinion (if I'm allowed)

Stephen Morris is going to get over 200 yards on VT, he got 192 on FSU, and Miami's defense couldnt even get off the field, that shouldnt be the case against VT.

VT doesnt have an offense, Miami's offense doesnt need to be great to win this game at all..... just go check out Duke's offensive stats if you think i'm just being a "homer"

Last year Miami's offense had 347 yards total (190 pass) (157 rush)..... 1-12 on 3rd downs and still won 30-12.

Duke's offense this year had 197 yards TOTAL 0-11 on 3rd downs against VT and still won by a FG.... smh pathetic.

This game is already over regardless

I think they had 8 sacks that game. I think they had 7-8 against someone else as well.

People also forget that they literally stack the box and bring 5-6 every single play. They have really only played 3(UNC, ECU, Duke) teams that really throw, and they lost to one of them. A lot TFL's and sacks because when the play one dimensional offenses like almost every team they've played it's easier to get to them on 3rd down when you know they have no choice but pass because of the predictable runs on every 1st and 2nd.

O-line and defense can win the game for us.

Morris can win the game for VT.

Yeah. A program that can consistantly play like crap, lose games to the likes of Duke and BC, but know they control the Coatsal because we NEVER beat them when it matters, at least not in 10 or so years.
