Beard was mediocre here before under Golden. There’s a reason Richt didn’t retain him. Coaches can improve, but would not be exactly thrilled with that hire.

I wouldn’t really use Richt not retaining Beard as a justification for Beard sucking. Not sure if you noticed but those offenses were horrific.

Beard probably learned 10x as much under Candle as he would have under Richt. I do agree though would be a meh hire as WR coach. If he helps Candle’s system go though then who cares.

Kevin was a first year position coach. Hardly an indictment considering most staff are not retained when a new head coach rolls in. Kevin moved from high school to one year off field to one year as a position. Candle appears to like him. Who knows but if it is Candle and he want him so be it.

To be fair anyone that ever makes any negative comment is labeled a mope on here. Reality is when assessing the state of the program over the past 2 decades, anyone that doesn’t skew negative just isn’t being objective. The bigger issue on this board has been the slurpers, they try to kill most constructive discourse on this board. It’s easy to spot the slurpers, the mopes, not so much.

There are some that take either position to extremes. Those are typically the ones called out for their constant views citing only one position. There are instances where some get labled with either mope or slurper in instances where they vehemently defend a certain position. Fair or unfair, it probably won't change any time soon.

Agreed. But there is a crowd that does not have a real connection to the university whatsoever. They don't have season's ticket, don't go to games, just *****, whine and complain as desktop warriors. Sadly there is a lot of projection going on.

This seems to have struck a nerve. Those people may very well be mopes, particularly with the comment of ‘who’d want to work for Mario’ but the rest can be reasonable statements in the right context. For instance, it’s reasonable to make the statement ‘would you want to be a WR in this offense’ especially when posed as a rhetorical question when venting about frustrations in regards to our WR recruiting.

His buyout in his 2019 contract was $450K so even if it doubled with the new deals it is nowhere near the $4 million Blake paid to "snag" Manny. Did read one comment saying Candle's wife wanted nothing to do with South Florida ... but no idea if that was a genuine fact.

There's room for reasonable criticism, but simply making a negative comment doesn't get you labeled as a mope. It's the constant, repetitive negativity that gets people labeled mopes. I've done plenty of venting myself and I'm no mope.

Sure but only the Elite of the Elite say “Gattis is still here” a week after he’s gone. Those people are treasures and must be protected at all cost
