I’d actually be good with Dawson & Streeter, bring one in as OC/QB Coach & the other as an Analyst...

Probably wouldn’t happen, but I’d good be with it.
I understand the thought but I’m not feeling it.

Let me just say this. Mario may not care about the feelings of fans. But he is playing a daaannngerous game if he just thinks he can use half of the available labor pool as smokescreens.
At the end of the day all that matters is if the guy he hires is good or not. If he's good people will put up with the month long search process, because people trust it'll work out in the end... Plus I doubt he's leaking random names himself.

Im not buying these leaks. I don’t know who the selection is but i would be shocked if it were Applewhite.
Gary is just guessing what I told toc and d money yesterday. Word going around CG’s was that Streeter or Dawson was the guy. I just never bought that beens it’s so out in the open and that’s not how Mario does business. Nobody knew Guidry , Gattis or Steele had interviewed but now suddenly Mario is letting everyone in on the secret? Any coordinator name that’s out you better believe it was signed off on. There’s also names that aren’t public that’s been in contact.

As I’ve said just because a name is out or somebody saw said coach in the facility doesn’t mean he’s the guy or that’s the position he’s interviewing for.

Maybe I’m overthinking things but there’s a trend here with how Mario hires coordinators, and I’ll stick to that trend until the OC is named.

Normally, I would ignore Ferman for all the reasons we know, but since he was first on the DC news, it’s disgusting to think that he could be right again, and he is leaning towards Brandon Streeter or Shannon Dawson.

Let’s hope that him being right on the defensive coordinator. Search was just a broken clock theory in action, because either of those two are uninspiring. Hiring street or in particular is like Boston College, hiring Blake James, a person that washed out at the job you just hired them for add a team with in your conference that has a better program than you. Pathetic.

yup, not sure who I would rather have? Dawson is interesting but he hasn't had a whole bunch of success without Holgerson and he doesn't recruit. Streeter got fired despite DJ improving a lot and the offense in general improving a lot in 2021 Clemson Averaged 26PPG and 360 yards per game in 2022 with Streeter calling plays they averaged 410 yards per game and 33PPG. Trevor Lawrence swears by him and Streeter can recruit QBs, he landed Trevor Lawrence, DJ, Cade Klubnik, Hunter Johnson and Chris Vizzina among others. He's a pure QB coach and was Clemson recruiting coordinator for 5 years. Was he fired for incompetence or because they knew they could get Garrett Riley?

Anthony Campanile was the name going around as DC and then boom it's Lance Guidry

One thing I’ve learned with Mario is he only lets out what he wants out with these hires. He knows if coaches are on campus it’ll get out. As secretive as he is this doesn’t align.
Facts. If Mario can get his new OC to call as many “Misdirection” plays as he’s giving us and the media this offseason, he’s gonna be ok at this U.

I’m not either, but considering the circumstances that might be the best we can do.

The ideal Superstar OC just isn’t going to happen because those guys all run the type Offenses that THFSC doesn’t like...

So it’s pretty much a situation where we have to hope he just find someone who’s on the + of the spectrum of what he likes to do.

It’s a matter of coming to terms with what the reality is & just trying to find something that at the very least is an improvement from last year. We’re not likely ever going to have an explosive high-Flying Offense under Mario.

Probably in minority but give me Streeter over Dawson, would be underwhelmed with either though. I know our QB play would be good and we’d atleast be competent (low bar I know) on that side of the ball. Plus he has big time QB development to sell to recruits. Again, either would be a disappointing for me honestly. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Both would be better, but like many have said, I know that’s unlikely.

The Kremlin like secrecy just seems like a ton of effort for naught. Sure keep a tight circle but keep an eye on the prize. Optically it’s gotten to a point where the process and the road to, have become more important than the outcome.
