I mean, like I said, Mario could hire the least popular CIS candidate, and I wouldn’t even break a sweat. Or even comment about it. I never do on these hires, whether they’re wildly popular here, or the opposite. Of course, I am interested in who’s going to be hired just on the basis of the Canes are my team and my alma mater.

The head guy is here to do what I said, win games, bring this program back to national prominence and playoff contention in a reasonable number of seasons.

He can do it however he wants, but that’s what he has to do.

And if he doesn’t, I’m not worried about it. We’ll find someone else. I think the commitment will be there either way from an organizational and booster standpoint.

CIS just being CIS. Too much premature overreaction. I will wait and see and then look at results. People already contemplating Mario's demise and OC hasn't even been named, let alone call a game. Hysterical.

He's at ND right now so it doesn't exactly fit the description. Interesting what happens to him now that ND wants Ludwig.
Im not doubting you but is that factual? I haven’t seen anything concrete but I only looked for a minute.

It’s not Applewhite folks. Relax.

Denbrock makes Applewhite look like Mike McDaniel. I know you just threw a guess out there but legitimately might be the worst name that I’ve seen in this thread.

I think that's underrating him a bit. He's a perfectly average OC who is vanilla but isn't a total dunce - his LSU offense this year did alright.

I'll take a guess and say that this mystery OC that @JayCane20 is referring to is Charlie Weis Jr. from Ole Miss.

Not completely sure what to make of him.

Yeah looks like I got got by wiki. When I typed his name in it was the result that came up under "About". Didn't even click a link

I was just throwing out a wild guess based on the SEC clue. I know nothing about him other than his close ties to BK.

Think Heupel just gave him the OC title up there didn’t he?
He did. It would continue a trend of Mario stealing someone who just got a new job. This one would be even more impressive. Taking someone who was just internally promoted and hiring him for the same position.

I don't know, does Heupel call plays? That might be the appeal for Halzie who has never done it before.

LSU was top 25 nationally in points scored per game and had 453 yards per game in year 1 without an exceptional QB against the #2 SOS in CFB.

One good season at LSU with Brian Kelly’s hands all over that offense and Jayden Daniels development doesn’t wipe off his years of ultra stink for me. He has spent the majority of his career coaching OL/TE and being an extremely conservative, bland, and dink/dunk play caller.

Yes apparently Mario is trying to pry away this SEC OC (he just said someone on his staff so I’m guessing that it is OC because it seems logical).

Although the WR coach does make a little bit of sense too in another scenario. I can clarify when it’s all said and done. I told Cribs the dots I’m trying to connect lol
SEC OC you say...
