The More You Know...About Georgia Tech

They are going to beat the crap out of us this week.. I'm guessing they put up 50+ points on us and Morris is garbage so our offense will only go as far as Duke does..

So what I'm hearing is this: Keys to winning Sat. vs GT...

1. Get on the board first
2. Get after the QB
3. Disrupt their offense by strong play from the middle of our D
4. Don't give up the big play.

Nice. It'd be great if we've seen any of that in the 3 games prior. Not really feeling to confident about this one.

I am an optimist, but I think we have little chance of winning this one.

I'm hoping work cooperates so I can head down to ATL and watch this game, but I don't expect us to do much either. I'm going in with low expectations and hoping for the best.

Of course, by Friday night, if I'm down there w/enough drinks in me, I might be predicting a 50pt blowout in our favor...I say crazy **** when I drink though.

I don't have high expectations but I'm not as pessimistic about this game as many. Teams that are well-prepared and can stay disciplined vs Tech can hang in. They key is that they really have no plan B. now I have no idea if we can do those things but I'm not conceding failure. I was far more pessimistic vs KSU who has more ways to beat you.

I'll say this--if you're comparing opponents, VT hasn't looked too impressive all year--and they beat these fvckos at Blackturd. Then, VT treks up to PITT and gets their brains beat in by a team who had their asses handed to them by Cincy. GT beat up on UVA who beat up on us last season.

I think we can feasibly beat VT this season. Injuries and their own dumb mistakes could take them down by the time we play them.

If I'm that confident about us being able to possibly beat VT later, then I should be as confident about us beating GT--but I'm just not. It's a tough call.

How is it we literally lost our 4 best guys against this type of offense in Perryman, Buchanan and Kirby at LB, and Porter at NG? 5 counting Ray Ray, who also matches up well vs. the run. Bummer...

My hope for this game is that Gianni Paul will step up at MLB. He played great assignment football lagainst Bethune, and could have a breakout game here. Smith, Green and Chickillo need to anchor the DL -- they have no excuse getting fooled by GT's trickery. That goes for VT and McGee in the secondary. And, of course, our Offense needs to play its part. It's not a total cluster, we have a shot. But man, we were looking really good against this team only a couple o fmonths ago.

I will say this is a much different option attack, its much more old school and not so much of a deceptive option as is the read option. I think the reads defensively are easier to keep for a player. It will be interesting to see if we can hold our own against this team. I am excited to see more of Gionni Paul thats for sure, he looked solid last week in limited action. I will agree with you guys that we need to get a TD on our first possession. We cannot fall behind early and we need to carry a lead into half to have a chance. I think we can do it, but it will take be an epic game plan and execution if we do pull this one out!

I felt pretty good about our D before we lost Perryman, Buchanan, and Kirby.

we are looking at playing 2nd and 3rd stringers exclusively at LB. that is big big trouble. those guys are not good (Gaines, Paul, etc)

This, and the GT defense has looked solid to this point, our offense, not so much. Could be a long afternoon.
