I appreciate all the hype and smoke blowing...however

Nebraska was 4-8
FSU was 5-7
Arkansas was 2-10
VT was 6-7
Purdue was 6-7

Somehow they can all recruit better than us with losing records...

But we can’t get local talent at 7-6 and a top 5 defense

Where are our recruiting dogs? I believe it was 6 top 100 kids from the tri-county area, and a bunch of kids from Dade who went to our rivals.

Manny has done a great job getting transfers, but not landing kids from our backyard is going to bite us in the ***.

That’s the only way we win anything worthwhile for the next decade.

this is a transition class for manny, it's not really the same. in the cases of FSU, nebraska and arkansas those are all a new coach's first full class... FSU recruited pretty poorly when factoring in the new coach bump. i'm willing to bet miami's 2020 class will be ranked higher than all of them.

Nick Saban was on ESPN yesterday complaining bc one of his players entered his name into the portal (kid wound up removing his name from it shortly after) expect Saban to complain to the NCAA about the portal until it gets removed, just like he did with the satellite camps.

Of course he will. Prior to "the Foundations", the Florida schools dominated college football, so the SEC solely touted the SEC Championship. All you heard in the South was about winning the SEC Championship. Now that the SEC installed the NCAA's President and developed the greatest tax evasion scheme since Al Capone, they do not want to revert to being irrelevant.

Alabama pays these athletes exorbitant amounts and makes them unfulfillable promises. This breeds entitlement and also results in the majority of the team not receiving the "playing time" that they originally envisioned. For U. of Miami, it is the converse. A transfer moves from Tuscaloosa (median income of $22,000 per annum) to South Beach, they attend a private school and benefit from comparable training.

The Portal negates Alabama's Foundation to an extent. Alabama can train them and we then poach them. Yes, Alabama will keep 22 starters and 5-8 other players, but the remaining players remain susceptible to the charms of other teams. More importantly, the player in question already cashed Alabama's recruiting check!

If I were obscenely wealthy, I would paper Plam Beach, Broward and Dade counties with billboards of the Alabama KKK!
