TVD has abandoned the middle of field for some reason. Not sure if it's entirely TVD or a combo of him not trusting what he's seeing or Dawson's play calling.

I will say VA's LBs and their SS who played in the box were excellent in their zone drops (our LBs could learn a thing or two...they are terrible with their depth).

That’s when you use your WR to run everyone out of the middle and use your TE. Oh yea we might as well use 6 olineman as much as we use ( or don’t use ) our TE….Let the TE catch 3-4 over the middle for 20-25 and see how fast your WR are now in single coverage cause now the safeties have to stay home and it opens up the running game cause the LBers have to take deeper drops and the SS has to back up out the box….

I’m no offensive guru and I don’t have a clue how to play Madden but I have watched enough football to know if all you throw are deep balls and WR screens it leaves a lot of people free to try and stop your running game.

Running game sets up the playaction and the passing game helps the running game…….nowadays you need both.

Our passing plays are essentially running plays. Most are dump offs or bubble screens behind the line of scrimmage. There's other safe passes to be made besides just airing it out down the field. A passing chart would be embarrassing to look at.

When your QB has the yips what do you suggest Dawson do? Go 5 wide and still have him confused by a zone and not knowing where to throw it?

I'm thinking Mario's plan is to bring back Mesidor at SDE and put another 10 lbs on Bain and move him inside to replace Taylor.

Bain isn’t moving any place. Burroughs takes over for LT if he leaves. We also will be portaling the position again since we can’t land high school kids. Pray we hold onto Jones. If Mesidor comes back that would help but he’s always hurt. Our pass rush was even better before he got hurt. Kelly will be back and Bain at the end spots also. But more Porto’s kids will come. QB DT and corner seem like a given

I'll wager 500 quatloos that we don't get a starting QB in the portal. It will be TVD or Williams next year. Since one of them will be the QB, the best use of money is to get a top WR. We struck out on Flowers and Addison last year, but maybe we'll finally land one. If money left over, then get a top CB. On DT, we'll probably look for another schools problem child (like our DT from Bama) , who won't cost an arm and a leg. The USCe DT fits the bill. And then Cristobal needs to try to convince JHH to stay and improve his draft stock.

TVD was one of the top 5 passers in the nation early on and now he's some lame duck that can't do a **** thing? It's him all of a sudden? Nah, I'm not buying that. He showed what he could do if Dawson is calling it right.

Oh, they get credit for sure. ****, most coaching staffs run circles around Mario and company. I'm constantly amazed at how teams that have no success with things can seemingly exploit us or execute at a high level against us.

Dawson has called better plays. He's gone away from them and the other coaches know it. They're preparing to our tendencies at this point and it's why we see close games that shouldn't be close.

It doesn't matter in the end. If I'm a QB, I'm out of here or not coming at all. If I'm a TE, gone as well. WR, same thing if you're an elite WR. This isn't a fun offense, it was and then it wasn't. They didn't all of a sudden forget how to play.

We've had 20 years of blaming players and when corches show you who they are, believe it.

I'd like to see if TVD could get out of his funk with an uptempo, no huddle offense. NC St playing so much press man should make it much easier for TVD into a rhythm and would mitigate a lot of the eye candy from defenses that have confused him lately. Great game for the TEs to get involved. It can't really be much worse than it is now.

QB- Either TVD returns or they take a Portal kid with a year to play. 2025- Emory is in year 3, Brown in year 4, 2025 kid from GA, and Judd in year 2.
CB- Porter, Brown, Brown unless Ellis flips
DT- We only need one of JHH/LT to return and we should be ok.
TE- We need to use them if we expect elite TEs to commit.

LB- I'm not concerned about our LB room at all.

If we go 8-4/9-3 this year and improve the roster, why would expectations be 8-4. Is it natty material for 2024, not likely but tcu made it with far less.
