No flex part of what I appreciate about old school hip hop the most is the historical context.

Every American city today wayyyy safer than the same city was in the 80s and 90s. I mean you can still get ****ed up outchea but these stories that ****** was telling was just raw, real **** from that era.

I can always respect that. Makes the **** wayyyy more live when I listen to it. My mind always picturing the historical context of what they were going through and dealing with from their respective communities.

When I see a young guy talk about some mumble rapper like they’re the best, I just cringe the same way I’d cringe if some young Canes fan told me Brad Kaaya was the best Miami QB ever.
