I expect our D to be much better if Porter is healthy.


Perryman will be doing his thing and a year better. Kirby could be a star. Then you have Figs busting on to the scene.


The DB situation should be the best it's been in a long time.


And don't forget guys like Muhammad and Bond coming in the fall.

Florida will have talent yes....but they have two replace two first round picks in Elam and Floyd. Elam literally carried them in a game or two last season. Shoot, their defense is what carried them, and they lost ALOT of talent/seniority. Florida's offense was as bad as our defense, but they lost some great players on that offense too. Right now they may not be able to hold a normal spring game because of so many injuries on the o line. I will say to look out for Matt Jones, the RB who is replacing Gillislee.

Bottom line Miami will have an advantage if we stay injury free and the Dline steps up. I can see Florida coming in over confident much like Oklahoma did when we came to Norman in 1985. We have some talent that is ready to bust out and a QB who can lead this team.

One more thing to add....we have a small advantage with Coach Coley. He has game planned/prepped against Will Muschamp teams for the past two years........Florida does not really have that advantage since Coley is not running the same Jimbo called offense at Miani.

A few things:

1. Because of smart planning, we are playing the previous game (v. FAU) on Friday and UF is playing on Saturday (v. Toledo). An extra day of prep/rest doesn't hurt.

2. UF has to travel to us, even though they will have about 25K people in our stadium, they still have to travel.

3. UF lost a bunch of players, here are the notable losses for UF

Defense

Bostic (MLB),
Jenkins (OLB),
McCray (OLB),
Elam (S),
Evans (S),
Hunter (NT/DT), and
Floyd (DT)

Offense

Gillisee (RB)
Nixon (OT),
Wilson (OL),
Reed (TE), and
Hammond (WR)
 
they will still be favored coming into our house...then we *** rape them in front of GOD and 30mil witnesses...but we have a game before them that is more important at this time..

stop the run and you beat us.

not concerned about the defense. we lost some ballers but 3 of our top 4 DT's return, plus powell gets back from injury to team with bullard and fowler. our top 4 corners return also. where we will be weak is at safety and linebacker. gorman played a ton a safety but the other guy will likely be a redshirt freshman or true sophomore. the whole key will be stopping our run game. driskel stinks, if he has to make any plays we can't win.
 
The difference between 08 and 12 will be reflected by different results versus the gata
 
knowing this team we will blow out UF then come out flat against a USF or GT. To be serious though I think it just depends what our defense does. Our offense also needs to put up points and keep our d off the field. I think there was too many times last year our d went through a long drive only to have to go back out cause we went 3 and out.

Any idea when tickets might be on sale?? now that i'm state side I need to catch a game this year

Not every team improves. Some teams lose talent, leadership and productivity due to graduation and the draft. Florida and FSU are both examples of this. They both lost a ton on defense and will have to replace a lot of productivity and talent.
 
The truth of the matter is Florida might be replacing a bunch of people but the back ups last year played a lot. We probably played 20 guys on defense last year. If there is a drop off on D it wont be by much. The offense should be better.

Right. The recruiting classes have been really good too so just because some of the faces are new, doesn't mean it can't be even better actually.

None of our offensive positives matter if we can't stop your run game, depending on how Driskell attacks. If we get our **** pushed in like we did a few times last year, our offense will struggle to keep up against a good D. We showed it plenty of times last year.

Our special teams are going to be very very good this year so that helps, though kicking is a question mark. If the defense can keep it close we have enough playmakers to get the job done but thats a big IF.

To put the talent in perspective every single stater on the Florida defense next year was ranked in the Rivals top 250 out of high school. Also 8 of the starting 11 last year have started games.
 
I expect us to load the box and dare Driskell to beat us thorugh the air. Driskell can't hit the broad side of a barn. On top of that they have terrible WR's and TE's.

They do have a big physical OL so the task will be in stopping their ground game which will include Burton out of the wildcat.

Beauty of college football is year to year, you just never know what's going to happen. Should be a **** of an intense battle though, fo sho
 
They had to cancel their spring game due to Oline injuries.....they are banged up in a spot they needed to perform and get better...

The Oline is a little banged up but nothing too serious, to be honest with you the Oline will be much better than it was last year.

yea allowing 40 sacks as little as you threw and almost last in passing offense in the country ..could be with our Defense one **** of a game..
