The Forgotten Recruit

I'm so sick of people thinking 4.4 WR's grow on trees. STOP PAYING ATTENTION TO HS TIMES. 9 out of 40 WR's at the NFL combine tested under a 4.5.

Update!!! Just got a call from one of my former youth players that went on to play LB for Ole Miss. Kid was dismissed for reason other than his ability. Says he got ****ed. He say's quote, "he was just as good as any receiver we had and probably would have been just as good as Treadwell". Now he played against him in practice and it's his assessment so don't come with that canned BS like you know the kids abilities. We'll see and I hope he's right.

Curious to know what lb you know from there. I know a CB and lb who plays for ole miss and next time I see them will ask about harris

Kid looks to me to be a 4.68 type. Good body control. Main reason for him to see the field is blocking. Change of pace from Bruce or Richards. More Physical. All about matchups. Put this guy in the slot and have him do jump ball slants vs slot corners.

+1. Laquon Treadwell, who will be the #1 WR taken in the draft, runs a 4.63 40.

40 times are mostly irrelevant, yet to some posters they are the only thing that matters. DVD ran a sub-4.3 40, while Joe Haden ran a 4.7. I'll take Haden 10 times out of 10

yeah laquon's pro day numbers are pretty mediocre but they were still hyping the sh*t out of him on social media even with the bad testing numbers.

I'm glad he's here, brings experience to an otherwise average and young receiveing core. Plus can always use the depth

Yep, example that's good is to see how all the fast receivers the Raiders drafted solely on there 40 time.

Didn't Mark Richt just say (twice) that we need to add some speed in our WR group? So excuse me while I continue to search for what incoming WR may fit that bill of having the speed our HC wants. Not saying 40 time is the end all be all, but it does give a decent indication of what to expect, albeit less so than a simple highlight tape. (Like Latrell Williams, nobody gave a fck about his 40 time because his speed jumped off the highlights regardless)

Like OP pointed out, this isn't his JUCO tape, but dude looks like he needs A LOT of coaching. This whole stopping and starting nonsense he does in every highlight I've seen of him just isn't gonna work. If he comes in and contributes anything this year I consider that a big bonus. I don't think we can count on that happening, though.

I get ya...but this a juco add its a bit different. This kid adds immediate much needed depth. Richt will look for speed in HS.

I actually think the forgotten recruit is Jovani Haskins. I think he'll be a beast here when its all said and done.

I highly doubt that an SEC school like Mississippi would get rid of another "Treadwell" They would've done everything possible to sweep it under the rug to protect a future star player....Mississippi will happily railroad a scrub, though...

Therea a reason hes foegotten, juat because hes in orange n green doesnt change his jagness

Lol. Labeling him a JAG and you havent even seen him play yet? **** its cold around here in the offseason.

Nothing great about his tape.

I seriously disagree. 2 things stand out from his tape (maybe 3) #1 I concede he's definitely nowhere near running a 4.42 I'd say 4.7 sounds more likely. #2 HE IS VERY PHYSICAL! That alone will get him some burn as he appears to be eager towards contact aka running downs or Max protect. #3 he's above average on his route running skills. Aka possession reciever. Seems like a decent impression of Scott. Possibly minus the injuries.

6'3" 4.4 forty....somebody can teach him the other stuff...

I don't know if he has 4.4 speed but I will take your word for it.... But his short time is terribly slow... With his stop and start speed even you can jog and tackle him.

On this I agree, but I also have the give some credence to an intelligent kid who graduated in 4 years, practiced against both and has first hand accounts from multiple scrimmages. I'm gonna pick his mind more specifically when I see him and get more scouting details.
