The D-line

WORST DL EVER at UM. I never thought after the last few years anything could be worse, but this DL is the absolute most disgraceful thing I have ever seen here. No speed, no size, no push, nothing. These guys were a DISASTER.

And before you think, well we contained the rush and won the game, this was BOSTON COLLEGE. We got NO pressure at ALL by the front 4. NOTHING. Not even on a BLITZ.

WE need to figure something out on that DL and FAST, or we are going to get sodomized up front by teams like FSU, ND and KSU.

This. And no one should be surprised

BC historically has good OL's and put several OL in the league. I don't keep up with other teams so hopefully this is one of the best OL we face this year.

I never thought I would be yearning for the days of 270 pound Matt Sweeny up front, but **** if this isnt a trainwreck up front. We need to sign like EIGHT DTs this year.

One of the most disturbing things to me was the lack of speed. I mean the youth and size is one thing that is somewhat expected, but **** if these guys arent slow as sh*T.

chick gained a lot of muscle and it seems to have slowed up coming off of the edge. let's see how he does next game. this squad will get better with time and coaching. i have some hope. it's not all doom. plus, they had a fantastic goal line stand at the end of the game. they didnt quit. that means a lot.

It is the worst DLine since probably the 60's. Sadly, I think the line has talent...Chickillo, McCord, Hamilton...but its all real young talent...but we're in for a long season based on the OL play.

Chickillo's already starting to play inside on pass downs and I expect that will continue. Porter is the answer for little here. If he could actually fulfill his potential I think we'd be looking at an explosive guy who can periodically get in the backfield and make a negative play but not some 10 sack guy or anything. They have to hope the ends grow up fast and hope that they get a lot better on balanced downs so that down and distance become predictable. Predictable down/distance is what this team needs more than anything.

There's nothing to figure out. We flat don't have the players. Hopefully they will improve some as the year goes on, but there's no magic potion that's going to make this line great.

Is Jethro just a more hyped version of Hurtt....very good recruiter but not good at coaching their position? Just throwing it out there...he had some good lines at USC but those guys out.talented alot of their opponents and haven't done anything in the league.

I thought the DTs held their own on run support, I did see a couple of negative plays by the DL. there was one really nice play by chick on a rb in the hole, and lets not forget the play by robinson that caused the fumble. I also thought Pierre played a pretty good game and was moving around pretty well. There was also one play where the qb got wide and Robinsons hustle down the line forced him to get rid of it before he wanted to.
Pennmed really hit the key, predictable situations allows us to put our undersized freshman ends in to rush the passer. I will go ahead and say it, I see 5 sacks this yr by Gabe Terry. I also think that McCord will end up with a few and so will Green. I thought those guys showed some push and now they just need to watch the tape and learn and improve. I have faith in my CANES!
Just win baby!!!!

Everyone needs to chill out on the dline stuff. It is one game. They were bad at generating a rush, but were stout against the run for the final 3 quarters.

Scheme was crap as well. Plenty of 3 man rushes, no creative blitz packages, no more than 5 man pressure which the could pick up. Coach D needs to stop calling a scared game because of the inexperience guys. (thats my hypothesis)
