The culture change continues - Barry Jackson tidbits

Grimble left because he saw the writing on the wall. He was buried on the depth chart before we brought in all these new guys.

At the end of the day, how much does it matter to lose a junior who wasn't even on the depth chart BEFORE the 3 blocks of granite joined the team a few days ago?

Grimble is a guy that Golden brought in though. So how are you all criticizing the culture when it's a player that was only here during the Golden era?

Grimble was a guy that Golden had to scramble to get at the last minute because Golden walked into a disaster. There weren't any recruiting visits set and the few recruits Radio bothered to recruit were either decommitted or on the verge of decommitting. Golden had to take a shot at Grimble and any other player he could get at that time just to save the class.

It's a plus to lose him because it opens a scholie that we may need after we hear from the NCAA.

Grimble was a last minute grab in the 2011 class IIRC. he was brought in to compete (when the staff had no time to evaluate guys on their own...the class was put together in a couple of months) and he didnt pan out. that is not on the staff.

We can't have it both ways here. I love Golden too, but let's not suggest that he is flawless. Grimble is on him. Not a big deal, but Grimble was all Golden's. Also, I have not seen anything suggesting that Grimble was a bad apple, lazy, etc. I think he was just in a bad situation.

ERRRRRRRRRRR.. If Golden would have left a malcontent permeate his negativity throughout the team then it would have been ON Golden.
BUT HE DIDN'T.. HE CUT HIS *** OFF.. Next.......

i dont think you can count much of anything from the 2011 class either way for AG on the evaluation side. he took whatever he could get at that time

Time was tight, he had very little time to evaluate, he desperately needed bodies because the cluster**** RS left for him. Chick should be a god damned redshirt soph.

I blame Butch for leaving.....at least 2 more titles..4 0r 5 Acc ships two or three BCS wins...who knows, That back stabber made all this happen

So if someone offered you millions and a dream job, you would turn it down, when your own AD and administration were unwilling to pay you or invest in the program?

Randy continued a problem that already existed. If you want to blame someone, start at the top. Deesaster was a lawyer, not a real AD, and Donna concentrated on academics until just recently.

this is basically like losing a Cameron Binion( and to me, it's a good sign, it means the roster has been replenished enough that guys like Grimble got passed up)

I wish this guy no ill-will. There are casualties in every major program

I bet if you were to ask Butch today he himself would tell you he ****ed up royally by leaving Miami. This idea that Miami doesn't pay their coaches is complete BS. Coker was the highest paid coach in college football when he signed his new contract.

The Cleveland Browns were Butch Davis' dream job? GTFOOH! Nobodies dream job as HC in the NFL is the Cleveland Browns. Oh wait, Butch must have said that before he left Miami right after he swore he wasn't leaving Miami.

Saban does it all the time.. Golden should too.

2.5 years to almost weed out the mental cancer that infested the program.

Thanks, Randy.

8 or 9 years of infection tends to have that effect on programs. We can thank Radio Charmin for 4 of those cancerous years.

Golden brought in grimble.

Yep and you stay active in the prep and JuCo ranks to keep the roster in order. Suppose its easier when recruits are beating down your door, but we will get back there.
