I'm thinking he's worried they may get the 1st down. With 3 TOs you can still stop the clock and get the ball back even if they pick this one up.

It surprises me how bad the clock is managed in these games. Seems like it’s left up to chance and no one pays attention to it. Should be some type of official timekeeper to call **** out like that.

Opposite. I think that’s 100% banking on the D getting a stop. If you need to count on an extra set of downs you take the timeout and use the 2 minute timeout.
