The Best QB in South Florida that nobody talks about

so many good sfla qbs...wish we could take them. Regardless, we'll get a baller or two.

He reminds me of another QB I liked a lot (and hoped we'd get) out of high school: Gary Novo.

Great accuracy. Great balance. Moves well inside the pocket. A good sign of a QB who's been taught well is watching him roll out to his off shoulder. When you watch this kid, he's almost on perfect balance and sets well before making that throw. At one point in the video, he threw a ball about 60+ or so yards in the air. His arm is strong enough, especially for a HS junior.

Bottom line: I think this is the type of guy who, at least in the recent past, goes to UNC, BC or NC State and is a pain in our balls hitting the seam route.

My problem with recruiting him is that I like Edouard better. I also thinks it's really important to recruit Winky. I don't think Winky is going to come in as an athlete and I suspect picking up a 3rd QB would make him skeptical of our plans. So, if I had to choose, I'd go with Edouard and Winky. I'd still imagine Winky changing positions and Edouard developing his very impressive tools.

You'll hear me say this a lot over the next year, probably, but I'm probably biased toward Edouard. I'm really intrigued by his skillset and I cautiously acknowledge that I like him better than Olsen at the same points in their careers.

Looks decent but in a year with Winky, and Eduard you have to pass on a guy like this.

Is there ever gonna be a year like 2014? What is the over under on tri-county guys that sign BCS scholly?

I like him. We take Winky no matter what so its really between him and Eduoard. I would be fine either way, have them come to camp and compete for it.

Why not take all three if they want to come? You have two guys in Flowers and Edouard that can play other positions outside of QB. Flowers is a take because he's a star So. Florida recruit, Edouard seems to have the highest ceiling as a QB BUT can still play another position if he doesn't pan out at QB and you still have White as the more pocket-passing QB. We have to find a way to get Winky and Edouard in this class regardless and maybe this kid White mitigates some of the risk of taking Winky or Edouard

You Mean Gary Nova.. Rutgers QB.

JC

Ya, ya. Same guy. Novo, Nova. I was trying to make him sound more masculine?

I went on a QB spree that recruiting year. My two favorites were, as Larry and some others can attest, Kevin Hogan and Gary Nova. I also liked Jake Rudock about third best. Of course, we got none of 'em.

Absolutely agree that we cant take 3 QBs. I think taking two is pushing it, though we could probably get away with it. A lot of this is going to depend on the TYPE of QB AL and Coley want this offense to run on. As it is, unless we start pushing dudes out the door, or they transfer, we are going to have one **** of a logjam at QB if we take 2. We have to HOPE that Winky would be WILLING to move positions IF he cant make it at QB. Im ok with letting him come IN as a QB and take his shot. But if he cant force his way up the chart, then I hope he would be willing to switch positions. We really dont need more than 1 QB next year, and we are also totally IGNORING the possibilty of any scholie limitations we may have. There is no way we take 2 QBs if we have scholie limits next year. Then things get REAL interesting.

If Im Golden, assuming we have a full alotment, I offer the five best, and the first two to commit are it. Guys like Winky, Edouard, Mahalak, White, and Freebeck. Of course part of this also depends on what KIND of QB we are looking for. I could see them saying we will take ONE pure pocket passer, and one more mobile QB.

Because we have a ton of QBs now. We need other positions, and we COULD be facing scholie limitations too.

You dont just keep loading up on QBs because they are out there. We need DTs, LBs, CBs, OL, RBs, and WR. I dont see anyway we take more than 2, and even that is pushing it IMO.

I'm biased toward Edouard. He's an awesome athlete, which allows for some growth as it relates to his mechanics. He's already got a natural motion that is easier to work with than someone like Winky. Have to see more of him, but already, I think he has a stronger arm than Teddy/Jacory AND is more athletic. The only QB target as good as him is Mahalak in my opinion. If Winky played in Atlanta, I wouldn't recruit him and I'd go after Edouard and Mahalak.

That's a very good point, and one which the staff will probably consider. Are we recruiting this kid because he's the best QB prospect, or are we taking him because he's local and can help cheerlead for the class.
