Are you getting reps at 2nd team center?
If not who is ahead of you?
Finally are you finally on scholarship?
Are you getting reps at 2nd team center?
Bain is going to end up a 295 pound Reggie White type inside/outside guy when itās all said and done. Heās going to be a menace.
Disappointing to not hear Harvey or Chantz mentioned but Mesidor, Kelly and Bain are on another level with Wayne chasing.
Just hoping Moss can grow into an effective P5 DE.
Yup. Marshall's defense was elite or near elite in almost every defensive category last year. Only one team on their schedule averaged over 4 yards per carry or more against them. The Bank (8/15) (Camp Edition)
Heard similar things last year and that did not go well. No you literally didnāt. You heard the kids were having trouble getting open, catching the ball, and if Restrepo went down thereās nobody dependable behind him. Welp.www.canesinsight.com
Also, if you wanna go the analytics route, Marshall was 12th in the country last year in adjusted defensive FEI rating. Miami was 66th.
They were 15th in F+ Defensive rating. Miami was 57th.
Also, just for some context, if you think this is just made up data, Miami's offense was 94th in F+ and 90th in FEI. So it sure seems like the math checks out to me.
But, but, but we need a 1T war daddy! As if these dudes grow on trees. There are about a half dozen across the P5. It is about good run fits in Guidry's defense. Guidry's defensive front isn't about a spacer eat. It is about movement and burst. This is bull**** (nothing personal, just saying). Run defense is scheme and want-to. If you told me we play Wisconsin 12 times, maybe I buy this. But we donāt. Our kids can hold up against this trash juice ACC schedule.
Marshall had the #4 run defense in the country last year by YPG allowed and YPC allowed. They were e-leet against the run. Were they some massive front that couldnāt get pushed around?
They gave up 131 yards on 37 attempts against Notre Dame. 3.51 yards a carry. I think Marshall was slightly undersized up front compared to Notre Dame.
Georgia State ran for over 2500 yards as a team last year. They had 4 different kids that ran for over 450 yards. Against Marshall, they had 42 carries for 62 yards LOL.
Scout what the opposing team likes to do in the run game and fill holes with bodies. Iām not worried in the least bit about the season going in the ******* because we line up 7 in the box and just get washed out by Georgia Tech and UNC and NC State and Louisville. Come on. I wish we had 1 massive space eater inside too. But if the health cooperates, Iām not running and hiding from the run defense.
Bet you that is true in every camp across the P5.Wouldnāt be Miami without a report of a WR with inconsistent hands

We need to give our IOL some credit. We have an SEC all conference player at LG and a serious Rimington candidate at C.
I hope youāre a tequila man@JustAFanHTX every time someone says Dawson wasn't the singular play caller at Houston, we should drink a shot
This is a take that is decent. But a little mopey. Branson Deen is a good player. You forgot him. Receiver is undoubtedly better. Even if we donāt have a true number one guy.Iām not falling for it for the 20th year in a row.
OC has not been good when heās been the only play caller.
DC is a upgrade
QB has been good for less than 10 games. If he gets hurt again we have less depth than last year.
RB nothing like relying on Freshmen and RBās who canāt go 4 games without injury. (But this unit is better than last year)
TE starter in NFL everyone else unproven or coming off injury
WR basically the same unit as last year that canāt get open.
OL is a huge upgrade
DE is better than last year but relying on boys to go up against men OL
DT is trash minus LT who really has 2 years of hit and cold (other teams will run us to death)
LB we are relying on 1 transfer to turn this entire group around
CB is way worse than last year. There have been zero camp reports that point to this group being any good
S the worst depth position on the team.
K another year always Helps here so this should be better
P definitely not better but no clue.
A loss to a bad team early or getting stomped by TAM could have guys watching for that nfl check and weāre right back in the same boat as last year. 8 wins, tops.
Did RayRay return punts in HS?@D$ - thanks for the update! Anything with the following:
Citizen - injury, when ready?
Gore - 2nd team or 3rd team?
Stafford - Special Teams starter as Frosh?
C. Smith - anything?
C. Moss - 3rd team?
Who's our kickoff guys and punt returners?
Thanks as always...
I'll bring some German stuff, you'll like itI hope youāre a tequila man
Don't you dare undersell Anez Cooper, sir. There were moments last season where he flashed the most talent of anyone on the field. What did he do this offseason? Completely re-work his body and conditioning while remaining 6' 5ish" 330ish. May we pull and trap people to absolute death this season. I want to see us do to opponents what FSU did to us in '22.But, but, but we need a 1T war daddy! As if these dudes grow on trees. There are about a half dozen across the P5. Disagree with your assessment of the DE, LB and CB units. But I agree this is an 8-4 team unless we are super lucky and everything goes our way this season.Iām not falling for it for the 20th year in a row.

That is a fear for sure.... I commented on it when he had the setback. Kids not playing and stuck in the rehab room may get homesick/lose motivation. Does not appear he is at that point yet. Pretty sure Parrish is a 4th year Jr, Chaney is a 4th yr soph and if we lost both of them to the NFL (or injury or whatever) I would feel better about Trevonte sticking. Then he has Allen who is a RS Fresh, himself as a RS Fresh, Fletcher and CJ as TF.To be honest, Iām not sure weāll keep him period.
The only place where he was bad was at Kentucky with a HC who hates throwing the Ball.He was the play caller but its pretty fair to say he hasnāt had much successful without dana, time to prove that narrative wrong. Doesnāt mean heās a bad play caller or coach its just been what has happened so far in his career
I'm a beer manI hope youāre a tequila man
Iām not saying weāll have an elite run D but Guidry had a great run D at Marshall. Just go watch the ND game where his undersized defense held up fine against that massive ND OL.
Hereās the facts , we wonāt be running a passive , conservative D like last year. Weāll attack and have the numbers advantage a good amount of the time. That alone will help make up for no big space fillers on the DL. Weāll be bringing pressure and much more aggressive. Itās about alignments and confusion around the los.
Thereāll be plays we get out of lanes , or blitz away from the run causing long runs but as a whole I think we hold up ok. With our pass rush I would be fine being a middle of the pack run D.
The only reason people are freaked out about the run D is weāve had multiple scrimmages where the offense ran the ball well. Btw I get the concerns but I also trust LG and his scheme. The d will play downhill.
