This is more of an ATM than a full-fledged Bank, but I wanted to give everyone the latest I'm hearing from workouts.

Disclaimer: they aren't playing football. We can't read too much into this stuff. But the early contributors often stand out immediately, as we saw when OJ Frederique and Jordan Lyle arrived last June. Here are some early names to watch on Greentree:

- Miami landed a bunch of talented DBs in the Portal, but nobody is generating more buzz than Wazzu transfer CB Ethan...

- Amari Wallace (Central) suffered an ugly leg injury before his senior season, but it turned out to be a relatively clean bone break. He's fully healed up and making plays. Wallace had multiple picks today.

- CB Chris Ewald (Chaminade) is opening some eyes. He was the first name mentioned when I asked for early standouts.

- RB Girard Pringle has shown efficient movement and cuts. A source pointed out that Pringle's ability to change directions gives him an edge over fellow track speedster (and current SMU Mustang) Chris Johnson, Jr.

- All three wide receivers (Malachi Toney, Josh Moore, Daylyn Upshaw) have flashed the potential to play early. It will be fun to watch who emerges in spring with the pads on.

- The most improved player on the team may be redshirt freshman OG Juan Minaya. He looked overmatched at times as a freshman, but has been working hard and making real strides. Some believe his emergence contributed to Frankie Tinilau's decision to enter the Portal. Minaya has legit size (6'6, 330) and is responding well to Alex Mirabal's coaching.

Genuine question but how did Wallace have 3 picks if they arent playing football? Or do you mean they just arent playing with pads yet and "officially"?

This would be huge, would allow everyone else to slot down a spot and, mostly, into a more natural order of things.

A real eraser on the outside changes things on all 3 levels of the defense and lord knows we need all the change on that side of the ball we can get.
