He is a top 5 recruit in the country, you don't think his phone is ringing 24/7 with calls from other schools? It's very rare for us to get a prospect this high, so ya, I'm nervous about him

That’s a fair feeling because we haven’t been in a position to hold onto studs late in a long time. But, one thing you don’t have to worry about with Mario is recruiting. I trust everything is good there.

Money ain’t going nowhere.

His recruitment is never over until we sign him he leaves for the NFL.

These days, you have to stay on them even after enrollment so they don't portal out.

But yeah, that signing day is a big hurdle to get past and I won't breathe easy until it is past.

These days if a recruit talks to a college coach on the phone, the media guys will frame that as "He is openly listening to other teams". God knows what they spoke about but the narrative will be spun. Cormani could have just spoken to TRob/Saban on the phone, told a media guy and they ran with the "he is listening to other teams" nonsense.

Cormani and his mom spoke about their rship with DVD being the deciding factor. (outside of the money of course). As long as DVD is still here, im not worried. Maybe Bama is telling him that he needs to at least consider a backup plan in case DVD is let go or takes another job because he is a hot commodity and will get big offers from other schools. Its a smart strategy.

I think DVD is a UM lifer either way. I think hes the "Udonis Haslem" of the UM program. He will always have a job and even though on the books hes not making what he could make on another team as being the CB coach..he will always get taken care of under the table and never have to worry about money.
