One of my concerns is whether in this age of NIL does it negate (partially) Mario’s strength (recruiter) at least for the highly rated recruits. Did Miami make a miscalculation in hiring a recruiter in this age of NIL where it appears bags are more important than anything else.

There are only a couple of programs in all CFB with basically unlimited money for NIL recruiting and the portal. Both from the Lone Star State.

Go ask an LSU fan what he thinks about their recruiting battles against TAMU and the Longhorns.

Everyone else has to make some choices.

Ur spot on. I've been saying for months our ceiling is 10 but realistically we will finish 12 to 15.

I actually like Richard better. Both project to be very good DBs with the ability to move. Richard to free safety, brown to star(couch).

Looks like Gore is coming back. Lose the other 3 plus Burroughs.

JHH, Horton, Moten, Gore, and Campbell return. Hopefully you sign Jones. Acheampong is about 275-280 right now so he could be in those plans.

You need at a minimum 3 guys. Hopefully they find 1-2 with multiple years of eligibility that are also ready to contribute to make up for recruiting whiffs.

They will land quality players in the portal. Some guys deserve some raises and will need them to stick around. But overall this signing class wasn’t overly expensive like last year.

TVD comes off the books and his deal should net you a good QB. Cohen comes off and should land a good starting DT. Deen comes off and can land another DT of his caliber. Taylor, Kam, and James Williams aren’t cheap. Lee has a nice NIL package.

Reallocating money will get you good players. But there’s key positions to replace. Potentially 3 top 3 round picks. Not a lot of room to whiff.

This is where I question the approach. Simply need to look at the DT takes last year: Gore, Campbell, Deen aren’t good enough to get us to 10-1. Let me guess, we didn’t spend on those kids. To compound matters, they are all 1-2 year rentals. If we aren’t going to land instant impact kids, take kids with high ceilings and 3 years to play to fill the 2021/2022 holes? Heck, we can’t even land 3* HS DTs so wtf is going on here? No way those kids are big $ like a Stone, breland,…

QB- can we please land a sophomore QB with 2-3 years and let him Redshirt if he can’t beat out the big $ senior portal take. Yes, we need 5 heading into the season. 4 with at least 2 years to play. Always have 5! Go FCS.

OL- this is where you are “elite” so don’t miss and take fewer. No more Lou’s, denis’, etc. hit at a higher rate so you have more spots for misses at DT, DB, QB.

Crazy we talking like an nfl team during feee agency.

Miami doesn’t have the money. Needs to hire someone to do some money all type **** like the Oakland A’s did to build the program on a budget haha

When you break it down that way, it shows we’ll have a lot of money to play with.

Mario’s been decent to good with the portal, but he has to hit home runs now.

At the very least.. we need a difference maker at QB.
