Having 3 top 10 recruiting class and stacking talent sucks.Carolina Baker or Tampa Bay Baker?
Miami keeps hitting new lows with Mario. It’s an art at this point

Not a D2 program, still D1 program, though an FCS program. Same conference as Richmond, JMU or Delaware. My wife LOL'd when i said we landed a D2 QB named Poffenbarger. O how far we have fallen. That said, hope this kid balls the F out and proves all of us (including myself) wrong.
Also reading between the lines, sounds like we whiffed on Ward, saved $2M (some may go to Baby Tua) and now have money to throw at other portal kids?..
Having 3 top-10 recruiting classes and stacking talent sucks if you cannot land a good QB to save your life.Having 3 top 10 recruiting class and stacking talent sucks.
- “Miami was blown away by his visit this weekend and compared his personality to Baker Mayfield.“Miami just landed a commitment from Albany QB transfer Reese Poffenbarger. This will raise eyebrows, so let me pass on what I know about the decision:
- Miami will continue to evaluate veteran QBs through the end of this cycle and, if necessary, after spring. Poffenbarger has two years of eligibility, and his addition will not preclude Miami from pursuing another proven arm.
- Poffenbarger led the FCS in passing yards (3,608 yards) and passing TDs (36) while being graded at 2nd in big-time throws by PFF.
- Miami was blown away by his visit this weekend and compared his personality to Baker Mayfield. They also have high grades on his arm strength and athleticism (check his dunking highlights here).
- He measured at 6.05 and 215 pounds on his visit.
- I expect Miami to be aggressive in the Portal over the next two weeks. Positions to watch (along with QB) are safety, WR and possibly RB. This includes players committed elsewhere or about to commit elsewhere. They also will pursue difference-makers in the trenches. The plan is to pay for quality, not quantity. Young players like Rob Stafford and Chris Johnson need snaps. We don’t want to be like FSU where we major in the Portal and minor in HS recruiting.
- With respect to CB Antoine Jackson (ECU/UCF), I'm told Miami passing had nothing to do with his prior decommitment. There were some speed concerns on film. Miami did not have high grades on CB Earl Little and WR Jalen Brown, who went to FSU. There was some interest in Marvin Jones, Jr. but they have others rated higher.
or we could pursue them before they commit elsewhere. Two names I can share at WR are Liberty WR CJ Daniels and Wake Forest WR Jahmal Banks. I expect Miami to pursue both even if they commit elsewhere.

…yeah cause we are definitely waiting until they commit to pursue, that makes total senseor we could pursue them before they commit elsewhere.
Just an observation that has worked for others

Gotta do things the hard way everytimeor we could pursue them before they commit elsewhere.

Doesn't Little and Devonte Brown give FSU like 30 DBs on scholarship.
Because that would imply the staffs knows what they’re doing…

That goes against everything here. Panic and post apocalyptic responses. Bunch of babies. For whatever it’s worth, do not panic on QB just yet. Not saying there aren’t red flags but let’s see how this plays out.
We’re noticeably the slowest reactive program that I have ever seen in all aspects from game day, hiring, firing, offering, etc……yeah cause we are definitely waiting until they commit to pursue, that makes total sense

My fault bro.Sir, I was not referring to you, I was referring to the people who will try to tell us why Thamel was not "wrong" with what he said.
