The bagmen

Mods: I want to thank you for removing that retarded post by @TheUBack. I know that censorship was recently a hot topic here, but thanks for removing that so quickly.

Yeah. For real thanks. I don't want to get anyone in trouble or anything.

In general, at any school, 4 and 5 stars get something for their talents. Kids aren't lining up to play for Dabo because he's so **** chill.

Obviously they have a value that goes beyond tuition room and board

Quit while you’re ahead dumbass.

It doesn’t necessarily happen at every school.

Did you just not fūcking forget the shlt fūcking storm our program went through.

What kind of a ****** are you?

No way ole miss starts dropping dimes on other sec schools. The NCAA will make it sting but won’t cripple them. If they do start singling then the other schools have just as much dirt on them. It won’t be pretty for the entire conference. Ole miss will take its medicine and co ti ur to pay recruits. But this time they will be smarter about it. Emmert and co will show them how.

Wait, you think head coaches are involved in the bag game? The great programs operate that game independently of the coaching staff. Safer that way. Clemson, Bama, OSU, FSU, etc all operate in the shadows, without a coach's involvement.
Really......Thats why Bear Bryant told his assistants..Quote....Never pay a kid more than he's worth....don't kid yourself that (some) HCs aren't directly involved...Thats untrue...

Completely agree. Emmert has his hands full on this one though. FWIW I've been told from a few coaching friends (school I coached at has sent players there recently and still communicates with their new staff) that Ole Miss has no intentions of rolling over and allowing Emmert to make an example of them. People at Ole Miss believe they have way too much on the rest of the SEC for the NCAA to risk it. They will flip on EVERYONE else.
If Emmert is dumb enough to allow the NCAA to go hard after them, I don't think he survives it. But if he does NOT punish them appropriately, he'll face major backlash. Guess there's always a chance other schools convince Ole Miss not to flip. But that wouldn't be cheap. Wouldn't surprise me if Emmert himself starts talking about the need to pay student athletes just to take the heat off.
Now that would be irony to nth degree - a university/s dropping bag/s to another university in this case to keep their mouth shut.

You know how long Bear Bryant’s been dead?

They used to withhold water in practices back then too.

Things aren’t done in the SEC today like that. Saban runs a sophisticated 21st century operation where nothing can touch him and he never gives direct orders that can be traced back to him. It’s all run by shadow boosters with no direct trails that lead back to him.

Is there evidence linking him to the dirty dealings? Probably. But it will take the type of investigation the NCAA is incapable of and unwilling to do.

It will literally take somebody in Alabama’s secret shadow booster network fūcking up really bad, doing something illegal, which triggers an investigation outside of football, by an outside policing agency such as the FBI, which by accident uncovers evidence of their transactions regarding their secret payments to players. But that’s a huge “IF”

Ole Miss deserves all the sanctions that were imposed in December, but they shouldn't serve as the sacrificial lamb for the $EC.

Bama and UGA deserve just as much, if not more, culpability for playing the bag game. When is their day of reckoning?
As soon as the NCAA realizes TV ratings are going down. Right now it would upset a successful business model, and they can’t have that.

So THAT is how the SEC coaches get around it! They just aren't the ones physically dropping the bags. Of course! The ole RIck Pitino defense. That obviously makes them innocent than

Jesus fck.

Coaches talk to boosters all the time, and sometimes in those conversations they talk about which players they want the most and are the most likely to go to other schools. If the boosters choose to offer those same players some type of incentive, well, that has nothing to do with the coach. Coach never makes a request or talks about those kind of things. He just talks about who he really wants and if he's got a good booster network, he gets those guys.

It's like being the president...people who work for you take care of some things they know you want but can't ask for or be involved in.

And the President is ultimately responsible for what goes on with his people. Nixon had to resign because of that very thing.

The point is, Saban or any coach may not be involved directly enough to bring himself down, but it could be enough to bring down the program. You aren't necessarily trying to find evidence linking the coach directly to anything, you are trying to find enough in order to show the coach, AD whoever in the program should have known what was going on. Whether they directly ordered it to a booster or just said things in their presence wink wink. It's that lack of "institutional control." We at UM are very familiar with that term.

Again look at Pitino at Louisville, just looking the other way is not enough anymore. The goal is not to go after Saban if there is any bs going on, it is to go after bama or the sec. It will probably happen after Saban is gone anyway, like with USC after Pete Carroll. That is of course IF they are in fact guilty. wink wink

Ole **** and **** State are just sacrificial lambs to the NCAA gods. Meanwhile at Bama, Georgia, Auburn, LSU and the rest it's business as usual.
@furd can you tell me what I misspelled so poorly here you had to post the "spelling" reply?
