do these people want the school to not be a school anymore and just allow credits that dont transfer for anyone? even in HS, a ton of my AP didnt count or count the same as it would have for a state school. just is what ti isPlease...this needs to stop.
There is NOT a gap with Admissions. ALL OF THOSE RECRUITS would have been admitted to UM.
The fact that Miami is a small private school can NEVER be "tightened up". We are always going to have some transfer candidates who would "lose" a bunch of credit TOWARDS A MIAMI DEGREE. And that is the choice that each transfer candidate has to make on his own.
What people need to realize is that THIS ISN'T NEW. You're just starting to hear about it now this year, which is both encouraging and frustrating. Maybe it's made worse by the fact that there are SO MANY guys in the Portal. But I am absolutely certain that Miami "cooled on" certain transfers in the past because those guys did not want to lose a bunch of academic progress by coming to Miami.
We can't really do anything except try to get transcripts faster and ask certain academic people to work overtime during the holidays.
Sure. Mario wants to know...
Not suggesting we lower standards or anything. Just hate to see coaches wasting any resources on recruiting a potential transfer if the student isn't 100% on board with the transfer conditions..would rather they get that out of the way first rather than recruit a kid for days or weeks only to have him find out he's not willing to accept some loss of credits.Please...this needs to stop.

Nothing, apparently. However, there was an unsubstantiated report that 'Bama dropped him. So it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that an insider could have a morsel of information. Kinda the elephant in the room, no?what more is there to say on cormani

Getting the transcripts earlier would be a helpful solution.
- I was told on Wednesday that the timetable for staff changes was ten days (by end of this week). This is my educated guess, but that tells me Mario wants to completely close the initial talent acquisition window before moving on to staff changes. As I've said for months, I expect significant changes including a new offensive coordinator and QB coach.
Go back a week.In a very weird turn of events your posts are becoming more and more positive. I like this new @BeastMode that is not gloom and doom ALL The time. Respect.
Hopefully we have a big second wave after spring because right now we still have massive holes at NT,CB and WREmptying the notebook from last week. Will have more in the days to come:

- One thing to keep in mind with the Transfer Portal- even with the best preparation, it is more unpredictable and haphazard than HS recruiting. Visits are often an opportunity for staffs to evaluate the players, and vice versa. Issues with credits transferring and the NCAA's new contact periods (which doesn't match with every school's enrollment calendar) have disrupted a couple recruitments. Miami has been aggressive in pursuing players but is being mindful not to settle for inferior talents. Remember, our two best Portal acquisitions last year (Akheem Mesidor and Darrell Jackson) committed in April. Miami will continue to pursue a big body DT in the Portal.
- Miami will continue to pursue a transfer RB. FAU's Larry McCammon was very interested in Miami but could not transfer certain credits, which led to his return to FAU.
- I expect Miami to be a factor for Alabama WR Tyler Harrell if his foot checks out. I will post an update on Gary Bryant once I get it.
- I don't think Miami is done at LB. They will pursue another transfer there if the right name presents itself.
- Iowa transfer Terry Roberts remains in the mix. If Miami takes him, don't be surprised if it's at safety.
- Miami fans are underrating Purdue transfer DT Branson Deen. His commitment came at a time when fans were expecting news on a big DT, a new OC or a WR name, so I get the distraction. But after watching him against Michigan and Penn State, this is a twitchy, high-motor player who made plays against big OL. He had 34 pressures last year against the best and biggest OLs in America. For comparison, Leonard Taylor had 25 against worse competition.
Spot on about this not being newPlease...this needs to stop.

I agreeOpining from my business (not football) background, there is little/no upside for keeping someone on the payroll who has underachieved, does not play well with his co workers, and is highly unpopular with the public. From the TAMU game on, it’s been apparent that there were issues, 4 months is more than enough to solve the problem.
How often has it been said DT is a grown man's position? How often has someone played as the #1 DT in America the first two years out of high school?Great stuff, D$!
Regarding LT - I like that kid and really glad he's still with us! Having said that... he's not a HS kid anymore. When he first arrived, everyone was projecting big things because of his "wiggle" and natural attributes. At this point, the truth is, he hasn't lived up to his billing as #1 DT in America.
Yes, you can say that he hasn't had the kind of training that he would've received at UGA/BAMA, but there comes a time when every man has to take responsibility for himself. I am rooting HARD for LT and want him to succeed more than any kid that he came in with, but he's gotta do things outside of what they prescribe for him in the program.
Assuming that he really does have the goods and all of those prognosticators aren't wrong, he needs to put in the extra time and truly treat this like a job... a really high paying 1%er type of job if he takes personal responsibility for his success. Hoping he does that this offseason and hoping it pays off.
Same goes for our entire WR room (minus Restrepo).
At this point who even knows besides the kid himselfNot mentioning CORMANI speaks loudly. Staff changes by the end of the week (potentially)? Not holding my breath.
Just redirect them to the Cormani Tears thread.what more is there to say on cormani
