The 10 Most Important Players for 2014

1. Duke
2. QB
3. Kamalu
4. AQM
5. Perryman
6. Wyche
7. Coley
8. Grace
9. Kirby
10. D Bush

Also Malcolm Lewis will lead the team in receptions.

And obviously the whole O-line is very important but im not singling any of them out.

3 LBs in the top 10 bc our individual linebacker play is of dire importance with the severe lack of depth

For me, it's QB, then pass rusher. I put Duke at #2 just because he is such a huge gamebreaker and we can't expect our QB to carry the offense this year. But the best pass rusher has to be up there, and that's McCord until someone else emerges.

Don't know why so many of you think Heaps is one of the most important players this season. Maybe he'll be an important person the first 3-4 games, but that should be it. My List:
1. Duke. If he plays like we all know he can, and stays healthy, our offense will be good.
2. Denzel Perryman. He's the leader of our Defense, and the others will follow him and his play.
3. Wyche. He needs to have a good season if our DL is going to step up.
4. Ryan Williams. He is the leader of the Team. Just ask Duke and Denzel. If he can take some pressure of Duke, we will tear D's apart.
5. Chick. He needs to step his game up. He needs to lock down the run to his side, and create more QB pressure this year. Last year he played more snaps than any body on defense, and needs to start producing.
6. AQM. He needs to get sacks, and at least be decent-good as a run defender. We need good QB pressure this year, so that our secondary can make more plays.
7. Tracy Howard. He needs to be lockdown.
8. McCord. Same as AQM. Except he has shown that he can get to the passer more than AQM has, so I think he needs to step it up in the run game, and the pass since we all know he will probably be covering WR's for some reason.
9. Coley. Receivers aren't typically too important, unless they are elite guys. Coley needs to play like he is (Elite), to take pressure off of whoever the Qb is. And On Special Teams, when he does play.
10. Gadbois and Isadora. We know what we have in the left side of the line, and obviously they can play to a high level. The right side is unknown so far, and they will have to play well, especially in their run blocking, so that we don't have to run left all day.

Honestly...

1. QB - Hopefully it's Heaps/Williams. We need the leadership and poise, and if one of these guys can be smart field generals, and let the playmakers do the rest, the offense will be dominant!!

2. Wyche/Hertelou - Like all have said, this is THE ONE position that turns this defense a complete 180 into a dominating force. Our ends will be more than fine this year as it is our deepest position defensively, but this one spot (assuming base 3-4) changes the game!

Then the rest of how you all generally have it. But mine are in order of importance as:
3. Duke - take the load of QB
4. Dorsett - because I KNOW Coley is gonna do his thing
5. Kirby
6. Kamalu
7. Armbrister/Grace
8. Gunter - More important to have the better season, likely to be targeted much more
9. Howard
10. Flowers

Its honestly that separated. If the top two do EXCELLENT, then we are in for a **** of a season!

Note- I didn't include other Oline because I think we are solid there and aren't banking on one individual. I'm sure they will rotate in like last year and will be solid.

Pretty much this. But I would add whoever is lined up at the DT position instantly becomes the most important. A distant second is Heaps/Williams/Kaaya/Baby Jesus/Rosier/Hot Dog Vendor or whoever lines up at QB.

Its more than understandable to have a qb as the most important player, but there is no way Duke is that far away (you make it seem like that by putting all those dots) from him. It was evident last year just how important Duke was.

1. QB whoever it ends up being.
2. Wyche
3. Duke
4. Flowers
5. Coley
6. Perryman
7. Bush
8. Howard
9. AQM
10. Chickillo

There, fixed it. **** that's a tough one to prioritize. So nany important players. Ten is not enough IMO

My point is it all boils down to QB and both lines. Significant improvement on the DL will help elevate the entire defense.
We all know what Duke, Coley, Flowers etc can do.
Yea we all know what they can do, but as far as importance goes, does that make them less important? If duke Goes down week 1, how many wins do you think we have compared to without him?-Thats importance. Kamalu shouldn't be close to 3rd either.

Heaps
Wyche
Perryman
Duke
Howard
Coley
McDermott(he needs to hold up against the big boys to give us a fighting chance)
Flowers
Burns
Crawford(could go to a few of our safeties actually, I'm rollin the dice on DC rising to the top this year)

12. The offensive line- as a whole. Some games last year I'd scratch my head at the inconsistencies

11. Sandman- when the receivers get covered downfield, he needs to be the short yardage dump off so that Clive can assist stretching the field

10. Standish- needs to take advantage of the opportunity because after this season, he's it.

9. Deon and Rayshawn- I need the mutha fuggers to be the equivalent of the bash brothers in the early mighty ducks movies in the 90s HIT EVERYTHING MOVIN and if they get dumb enough to throw it? IT AINT NOTHIN TO CUT THAT BITTCH OFF!! Then take it to the crib for 6

8. Sonny- about to get put in a position to show kehoe ain't a moron. SHOW ME!!

7. Artie- this the year you put the NCAA on notice you're giving wrs locks with no keys

6. PD- open up the route tree so you can earn some respect for your sr campaign

5. Gus- Speed is an added perk, but we need you in there purely to concuss and injure any defender stupid enough to lower their shoulder with you

4. TH3/ DP52/ LG 27- plain and simple you need to be the best defenders in the ACC. Period.

3. Herb/ Malc- torch any and every defense from the slot. DO WORK!!!

2. the Duke of Coral Gables- PLEASE stay healthy my friend. Your presence is vital to EVERY bit of our success.

1. Joseph Yearby- be Duke Johnson's Duke to his Mike James. I GUARANTEE you'll have your number called later in the season.

Be ready.

IM ABOUT THIS U!!!

1. Johnson, R.-a super star-if we lose him or has a bad season, the air goes out of the balloon.
2. Kaaya-We need an effective playmaker QB, not just a "game manager." If he develops quickly, we're off to the races.
3. Moten-We need a star at DT. He is the only DT on the roster with star potential.
4. Gadbois-Huge uncertainty at RT. If he has a solid year, it could be a very big deal.
5. Kirby-Perryman can't do it by himself.
6. Owens-Perryman can't do it by himself.
7. Muhammed-Emerging, every down, star at DE.
8. Waters-Our top YAC WR over the last 2 years-needs to continue.
9. Goudis-needs to come through in the clutch.
10. Vogel- not having a reliable and effective punter could be a disaster.

Heaps/Duke/Wyche/Pierre/Freshman DL/Coley/Perryman/Howard/Flowers/Burns

If the above play very well, we lose two games max.

If a true freshman starts over a guy that has four years of starting experience, then expect Kaaya to be in the Heisman race in '15 and beyond.

Lol at those with any offensive player in their top 2 or 3. Clearly they don't get it.

Most should see that an effective QB is CLEARLY a top 2-3 priority. If we have an O full of playmakers and a weak QB that can't get them the ball, the team will be more dependent on our D. Frankly, I would say the Oline is as important as the DLine (and pretty much always will be)

Oh please stop babbling this nonsense. QB is the most important position on any football team. No QB and a healthy Duke = bad to mediocre season. I mean I really hope you aren't suggesting that we can just hand it to Duke 30 times a game and win games. Because you are dumber than I thought if so.
