Texas Job

I live in dallas so about 3.5 hours away. I use to love in Atlanta which is around the same distance to tuscolusa and Texas fans have nothing on Alabama fans in terms of arrogance.

Man I'm from Birmingham and the only thing that can match obnoxious Alabama fans is obnoxious Auburn fans when they are winning. The reason is because there are no pro sports teams to draw some of the fanticism.

My son played club lacrosse at FSU and ended up hating Auburn with a passion for that reason. Their lacrosse players were dirty too, with their main talent being cheap shot artists. Hates em bad (so last night's NC win was double sweet for him).

Texas has every ingredient - and in most cases more than everyone else - needed to win big: money, facilities, alumni, recruiting base, No. 1 university in state, tradition . . . own TV network.

Yeah, but the Big 3 in FL have 10(I hate the gator and the feather people but this is STATE pride), count them 10 NCs in 30 years. The state of Texas, bigger, more money and people, has what, let's see, on yeah ONE. Let's roll that again. TX one, THE U FIVE, feather people three, the gator 3. Hum, guess you can't buy happiness after all. Even Indiana and Ohio have one. Okay in both cases it took a bought and paid for ref call but still. Of crap, if it weren't for those two stolen NCs, Miami would have SEVEN and the Sovereign State of Florida would have 12.

Ok, with all our problems, horrible coaching, no stadium, no money, crappy facilities, THE U will win it's SIXTH NC before UT wins another. We won a NC with Larry friggin Coaker as NC and Radio as DC. We don't need no frigging Charley Strong or billionaire boosters. We just need Mark to get a job someplace else.

Texas job is consider the best job for multiple factors

1)Money: Texas has by far largest athletic budget in the country. That means you should have first rate facilities, highly paid assistants, basically if you want something the AD will get it for you
2) Recruiting: As the Texas coach you rarely have to leave the state of Texas for a player, which means coaches spend less time on the road and more time with their families. Plus most Texas kids want to go to Texas. The state is not like Florida, where kids root for Florida, Florida State or Miami, the majority of Texas kids grow up rooting for Texas. Mac Brown usually had 15-20 kids commit to Texas their Junior year, most of which stuck so you can fill the majority of your class a year in advance.
3) Fan Base: Mac Brown won two conference titles in 16 years. If Al Golden doesn't win a Conference Title next year people on this board want him fired.

Put those three together and it is hard to find a better coaching job
