This kid would probably almost rather quit football than commit to UM. It is insane he has 3 threads of 100's of posts each.

Said it before, will say it again. All of these schools hire Saban disciples like he has some magic sauce have their head up their ***. If Smart can’t figure it out at Georgia, probably the only other school that can replicate what Alabama has built, then it is not happening elsewhere. The coaches under him learn how to build and staff a program and booster network, but until they are able to bring in his recruits year over year, bring in head coaches as analysts, get the support of the booster network, and the blank checkbook of the administration, they aren’t going to replicate anything. They aren’t learning some system or other lesson that can be transported.

Another reason these guys fail at a high rate is any somewhat competent coordinator will dominate at Alabama with the overwhelming talent advantage they have nearly every game they play. That doesn’t always translate to being a good HC (Smart is prime example, we’ll see what happens with Pruitt but not looking good).

Saban never shows them everything he knows. Kirby on his way to being the next bust coach.
 
Kirby can sell ice to the eskimos but he can't judge or manage QB talent to save his life. Funny thing, the fans on their board are now worried UF is going to out-recruit them. They have an acquisition sickness that goes beyond fielding a team with depth.

The one thing Saban has above all his former assistants is his uncanny ability to know when trends are changing. Spread offense, changing defense, etc. Kirby is stubborn and a control freak. The JT Daniels situation makes me wonder if Kirby did his due diligence on the kid before bringing him in; it seems like the injury was far worse than a normal ACL tear. Or he re-injured it when he got to UGA for the summer practices... OR he just isn't as good as he was before the injury.... there is talk on their 247 site of Daniels possibly transferring at the end of the season.....

Consistency is hard and matching Bama is impossible as a barometer. But Jimbo, Kirby, and Cristobal have done well.

No one said on the same level as Bama.

Cristobal had one good year so far at Oregon with a top 5 pick at QB. Let’s see how he does. Jimbo won the title with Jameis, so there’s one. Smart has an NFL budget and a weak division, but fine, count him.

Now look at all of the others that have busted. It’s not a great track record.
