Ten Years of CanesInSight

My first ever Canes message board I joined was Grassy and joined around 1996 until it was gone, with stints at some other cane start up sites, and being banned for a bit from Canesport I found my home here in 2013. By far the best site in the business for Canes talk.

@Andrew, who I had accused of trolling on CT Premium Board (true story), had the chops to make it happen quicker than we thought. I was shooting free throws in my backyard when I suggested Canesinsight as a name because, along with the message board, I thought we'd grow into a picture site (where people provided pictures/images of Canes experiences, like a sports pinterest) and it was a play on "insight." I was failing at my first attempt at a startup back then, so D$ really took the reigns and led this thing into what it is today.

And, here we are. Still losing games.

Remember when you could contact the equipment room and buy used gear from the Eye of the Storm page? Man, I loaded up back in the late 90s. I bought so much they invited me to come visit, so I did.

In the beginning (2012), I came here for recruiting news and to find out our next coach would be Al Golden…

…and it’s been downhill ever since!

Seriously though, I appreciate all the info and content provided by admins/insiders/people in the know who post. You guys are awesome!

If you’ve been here long enough, you know that @Paranos likes ‘em thick and juicy and @brock likes ‘em well done!

I check this site more often than PornHub.
 
I literally stumbled upon this site and saw some familiar names and thought I'd give it a try. I was actually on Grassy under a different name but rarely posted. Wrote some random posts and D$ asked if I'd be interested in writing some stuff. Left to go to CanesWarning for a bit and quickly made my way back here.

The site is a place I've made some life long friends and it's a great place to laugh and/or learn.

Appreciate those who do the hard work to keep it running smoothly.

We give BAndrew a lot of **** but he keeps this site running so shout out to him.

Also gotta show love to D-Moni. Had to pleasure of meeting him Chicago. Real good dude and shared drinks with me like we were lifelong friends. Here's to 10 more.

I was mainly a lurker a CanesTime and had some experience setting up message boards from my time PC gaming. When DMoney mentioned on CanesTime that he was thinking of starting his own site so I figured that if I helped him then he would share insider information with me. I thought we could create a better experience than CanesTime but it would be difficult to sustain the excitement and keep users.

With the help of an awesome staff we really created a great environment. Our users are the best and we aren't complete *** holes to them. I fully expect us to be celebrating our twenty-year anniversary ten years from now, and hopefully we have a few titles under our belt. Big thanks to everyone for making this happen.

How I remember it is that someone posted the Erin Andrews nude vid in the Lounge. Some lurker I think one named Pittsburgh Gator saw it and was mad about it for some reason. Then he reported it to Scouts main mod named Moni. **** got real from there cause she was banning everybody including mods.
 
As a foreign user this is, and always will be, the only way for me to follow the program as closer as possible and have a real conversation with fellow fans. I can't thank you enough.
 
Wow! Ten years already...great job to all that made this possible...as a fan, it's been my savior to visit this site throughout the time, read and post every so often.

BTW, the creation of Gator Tears, then subsequently Noles Tears, have been nothing short of a Picasso!

Here's to the TEN and many more years of great information and laughter!!

Congrats boys, you are by far the best canes website out there and i've been on them all dating all the way back to grassy.

It's incredible how much this site has grown and the quality continues to be topnotch.

10 years huh? Man I'm getting old. Thanks for building and maintaining CIS!

I remember back in high school and my first couple years in college, if I wanted recruiting news before signing day, I had to call Bill Buchalter's "recruiting hotline" that was part of the Orlando Sentinel's automated phone tree and hope for a new update. Then the day after signing day I'd save the Orlando Sentinel's sports page to see if our class was better than uf's or fsu's. If I was lucky, my dad would stop and get a USA Today the day after signing day so I could save that sports page too. And you could occasionally find the crappy black and white recruiting magazines in a Books a Million or a Borders. I still have one of those magazines that shows a RB from Coral Gables High School, some kid named Frank Gore.

From Grassy to Canestime to here, I'm glad I followed you knuckleheads instead of heading over to Ferman's board back in 2011. Even though I contribute nothing to this site, I'm glad I joined when this place started.

I gotta admit though, somedays I miss The Lounge. And I'll never forget when DBC dropped his explanation video, that was wild, we all lost it! Good times fellas. Let's do another 10 more huh?

After 10 years, still no ACC titles and we still have crappy coaches, the song remains the same!

Wow, I’ve been here for ten years? Even ten years ago, it seemed like we weren’t moving in the right direction. Wonder what we will look like in ten more?
 
Joined 11/17/2011…. Can’t remember what got me over here…. Must have followed some RCT guys…
