It's getting to the point where I'm just going to post this gif on any thread discussing a player.

There was a 94-yard run late in Lyle's senior year at STA that really opened my eyes at the time about his top-end speed (cited below).

Some here questioned his athletic upside initially, but that run against Blanche Ely showed a big reason why he was the #1 ranked RB according to On3.

Big time talent.

2024 4* WR commit Ny Carr vs. Milton

2024 4* RB target Jordan Lyle (current OSU commit) vs. Blanche Ely, including 94-yard TD run at 0:18 mark

It's nice to see not just the speed back at The U, but the talent as well!

What did they say Lofton got up to the other week? There's speed on every level of this team!

If only I could remember who the haters were regarding Lyle's lack of elite traits as a RB after the Florida game. Oh well, maybe this run changed their minds lol

There was night and day speed difference between Brown and Lyle. Not sure why people so confidently assumed Brown was faster. Lyle's speed obliterated the angle. He was obviously faster
Wasn't that different based on numbers.. but one could say a tired defense also makes the perception look different and the angles also

Look I'm a college level sprinter so maybe I see it differently but there's a difference between them. Same way a 4.2 look different to a 4.4 but numbers are similar

Look I'm college level sprinter also.. :ibis-roflmao-sm3:maybe I see it differently also.. we would both know that running against a tired defense in fourth quarter would look different..

We also know top speed is not the thing that matters most but ability to hold that speed over distance. But you got it

I think what makes Sam Brown's speed look different is his stride. It's also why I hope they have him running more vertical routes and long crossers.
