To be honest, most big guys have the issues you mention.

I understand you said most, not all, but most of the successful OLineman I've seen from UM (not to include other colleges) have no problem with those issues. I (personally) think we should stay away from players lacking a burning desire for the game and the work it takes to be great.

Rumph was/es equally inept justy as a COACH...not even college level..he had very little high school level. Ice had over decades worth of work at the high school level and actually built a program. The other not so much. ....either way both were at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to college coaching...just saying one was/is way more decorated.Alot of people just seem to throw away Ice because association to Randy, plus they have no clue of what hes done in miami dade as a coach so they just guess that it was based off of Booker T connection...not knowing he MADE that program.....our last oc was less of a coach than Ice in Dade county who rode the coatail of Dwayne Bowe to a GA gig at Lsu.And rode the wave of Jimbo Fisher as basically a practice baby sitter. You have to start somewhere...

Just like Rumph and Ice did they started at UM....lets see how it goes from here.

Difference between the two is like most HS to college coaches Miami got the best players from BTW that Ice coached in Thomas, Walton, and Jackson. If Rumph doesn't deliver some top talent from Heritage come NSD then he's worthless. No one hires HS coaches without the payoff of getting their top kids.

Previous staff ineptness aside, Ice was also brought in to lock down local recruiting and I am curious as to whether his relationship with Walton actually cost us other RB recruits.
