with all due respect, you don't dismiss "monster recruiters" from your staff, you reassign them.
it's like hitters in baseball. you can hit? they find a spot for you.
that he was completely let go tells me one or more of the following: (a) his evaluations are suspect, (b) he might not be as good a recruiter as people think, and/or (c) he can't coach his way out of a paper bag.
either way, not interested in having him on the UM staff.
