Teddy Bridgewater named new HC at Miami Northwestern

I remember listening to Al's first Joe Rose interview after he was hired. Joe asked him about recruiting, and the first thing out of Al's mouth was along the lines of getting a certain local QB back in the fold. We only had 2 scholarship qb's at the time, 3 if you want to include Spencer Whipple. Now Golden was an idiot and a liar, but even I can't imagine him pulling Teddy's offer when the position is in that bad of shape. Plus, who commits NCAA violations over a kid you are pulling an offer from? We quickly pivoted to Jacoby Brissett which of course failed and we ended up not bringing in a qb in that class.
In hindsight the Jacoby Brissett thing was a huge red flag

I remember Golden talking about watching one of Brissetts basketball games with his mom. He was all in on Brissett

He ultimately ended up committing to the Gators basically to compete with Driskell rather than come here

We landed some really good defensive recruits during his time but man his QB recruiting was abysmal

the first red flag to me was golden and staff went to one of the high school all american games and taped 8.5x11 sheets of paper on recruits' doors congratulating them on behalf of miami. amateur hour, but i think we ate it all up because randy gave up on recruiting in his last season.

Was a rough time to be a fan of the program for sure

Even though I’m not a fan of Mario and the hire, the investment in the program is the important part. Those coaches can **** all the way off, but they also realty never had a chance either

Yep, memories of the Shannon and Golden era... SMH... All bs I feel bad what happened to Randy tho... Anyways fug Golden and Doritos

Won 3A State Title in his first season.

Legend.

Miami Northwestern won their FHSAA 3A semi-final game, 40-0, and Northwestern plays Jacksonville Raines in the 3A finals this Saturday, at FIU Stadium.

They also dominated Raines 41-0. Teddy's squad is state champs in year 1

Kudos to a great person. Even when Teddy was playing in the NFL, he would always go back to MNW to help and contribute. Teddy is an amazing person.

Is there anything to the rumor that the Detroit Lions are interested in signing Teddy this year for the playoff run?

He did a phenomenal job-

You could see his kids are disciplined and well coached-

His schemes were too much for Raines in the 41-0 rout-

South Florida rules the state of Florida with 5 championships-

Venice won the 7A by crushing Lake Mary they made Notre Dame recruit look average at QB Noah Grubbs-

The toughest game they had was Columbus they won 31-27 -Columbus had them on the ropes.

I obviously heard that rumor during the MNW state championship run, and glad to see it finally confirmed. This could be the first time a football player has coached his high school to a state championship then signed an NFL contract in the same season. Amazing accomplishment

If Detroit wins the Superbowl that would make a **** of a story for Teddy.... I mean he's accomplished a ton already but that would be the ultimate cherry on top...

Just to add to the whole Brissett recruiting. He was known to be a Gator fan and WPB was at that time a pipeline to the Gators. I remember that was one of things Al Golden wanted to change was making WPB more of a pipleline for Miami.

Nobody from Dwyer at that time would go to Miami. Jack Daniel's pushed em all to UF

Ahh so that's why Florida Gators had a pipeline over there. I couldn't remember why but I remember all of them seemed to go up there
