Gilbert said that his recruitment is shut down. A couple of schools are talking to him, he added, but he's told them that he's locked in with the Hurricanes.

On this weekend's visit, Gilbert used the time to strengthen his relationship with Miami's coaches as well as fellow tight end commit Brock Schott.

"I'd say the one-on-one time I was able to spend with a lot of people, like Brock for example, I got to meet with him and just talk with him a bunch this whole visit and build a relationship with him," Gilbert told InsideTheU.

It's been a while, so it's time to empty the recruiting notebook for the Bank. Let's go position-by-position:

- Luke Nickel (Alpharetta, GA) is locked in at quarterback and is having a good senior season. I continue to expect Miami to monitor the Portal and potentially add a proven signal caller.
