TE Beau Sandland is..

Looking forward to seeing more of Beau this season ... but wanting NFL caliber players to leave so you can see what you have in another player is wrong, imo. Excited about both of those guys.

Honestly i wanted Walford to declare for the draft so we could see more of Sandland. but it is what it is and we have two solid weapons on the inside.

You want to have more weapons, so it is good for the team that Walford came back. We have 2 TEs that can be Ryan Williams best friends. We have 2 TEs that CAN and WILL be open a lot.

With the loss of our FB, I would prefer to see 2 TEs with a single-back formation.

Im not a huge fan of Walford. I think he scared of getting hit alot of times and drop some much needed balls. he came back for a reason...

Sandland has been a bust so far.

6-6 260, 4.6 speed, but couldn't beat out Asante Cleveland.

Show us something Sandland.

Lol if you don't think Sandland is / was better than Cleveland the minute he stepped on the field I'm not sure you can be helped... He's a pass catching TE, who needed to earn the trust of the coaches and develop as a blocker. In my opinion he should've started last year over Walford.

This is a huge season for walford, haven't seen him do much in plays that weren't specifically designed for him, but then again qb played a role in that, curious to see what he can do as a2nd or third option, catching the ball in traffic

Boom! Everyone cant be Shockey. He prob had to learn that blocking was a pivotal part of his job in this offense and he definitely wasnt use to doing that in JUCO I bet. Now that he has that year under his belt, I expect big things from him.

Plus it seems like Ryan Williams REALLY liked to throw this guy the ball when he had a chance last season.

I'd put good money on Williams making Sandland and Walford 4th round or better draft picks.

anyone else see as funny that Coach Carrol was not mentioned once in an article regarding Tight ends....coley/golden...sure I get it but no Brennen

I was a huge fan of him coming in and really had to eat crow last year. He has the tools without a doubt though. I can't blame everything on Morris when Sandland can't beat out Cleveland. I think Cleveland has earned more with the staff as far as dirty work and thats what elevated him, but Beau needs to just keep working.

Williams is the type of guy that will find him if he's open.

Walford was clearly shook all of the FSU game but I don't recall him being scared in other games. Did I miss that? Plus I like Sandland alot...I think last yr was his adjustment year and you will see that potential come out this yr!

The more the merrier at that position- a position that has lacked relevance in our offense for too long. Plus, if Williams is QB we may end up running some 4 TE sets.

I said it a couple months ago. Williams will feed Sandland like a mommy bird feeds its baby. He's going to be puking footballs into Sandland's mouth all day. Funny how good Sandland looked in the one game that Williams got extended minutes.

Williams, like Fancy Boy Dorsey, looks for the TE and likes to spread the ball around. Snickers was all about pressing it down the field and looking for WRs.

We always had great TEs in NC years. First TD against Cornhuskers in first NC game -- TE! What I don't ever want again is a friggin QB who will not or cannot throw to our TEs. Good TE play will make our offense a nightmare for defenses. They will always be open.

They can all hit the TEs, all these QBs from Morris to Berlin have the ability to hit the TE on 5-10-15 ins and outs, dumps etc. These are easy passes to big targets that I assure you they can hit. The questions is do they want to hit the TE. Not every QB uses their TE for some reason. I have no doubt they can hit them on these routes, the question is will they deliver the ball. Too me hitting the TE is like free money, especially when you have mismatches who can break 5 yard passes for 15-20 yard gains.

totally agree w/ this post. I'm not a fan of Walford either and I wanted him to enter the draft. He played sooooo scared against FSU and Va Tech, bobbling the ball several times stymying moment on drives. He also dropped a lot of balls and plays tenatively across the middle.
