Diminish the accomplishment if you want, but 9 wins at Duke isn’t easy.

Elko is a good coach and Diaz matched his best season (9 wins). Will his recruiting make them fall off in a couple years? Maybe. Probably. I can’t see into the future.

I can say he took over a decent roster and they didn’t get worse. He didn’t need “his players” to field a competitive team. That was the second time he has done it - took over from Goldens players as an DC and made them much better. And now took over Elkos team and won 9 (matching elko)
