Taint Hires Jim Knowles smh

Let's be honest for a moment, Knowles was the ****'s 8th option. Did I do it right?
"but, but, but it's a Top 5 job!"

Been my #1 for a while

I talked to someone that knows him and was an analyst under him at Duke, and he doubted he would ever consider Miami. Just not nice lifestyle or vibe and probably wouldn’t mesh well. Midwest suits him well and he’ll probably kill it at OSU. Coombs was just way in over his head as a DC

He may prove me wrong and I’m jumping the gun here but Napier isn’t drawing near the level of respect and desire to work for that the Gators told me he would. He brought over his DC to be Co-DC and I think he’s gonna call their defense.

Patrick Toney is a good coach but carrying coordinators over from G5 to P5 (especially in the SEC) isnt gonna cut it. You improve you’re job you’ve got to improve your staff with it.

Isn’t bringing another OC with him or QB coach (lol).. 2 OL coaches… this guy is corny as **** already. He might do it but I’d be surprised if you find an OL coach who is highly regarded and wants someone else helping run the show. Just my opinion.

Gators made a bad hire imo. They are trying to do what they did with Urban. That is never gonna happen again. Urban is a once in a lifetime coach essentially.

Yep on the surface I thought it was a great hire for them but the more I see and hear I think he's a weirdo just like Mullen

Well it may be just your opinion, but it’s just an opinion I agree with.

Agree, I honestly thought that he would’ve picked two big-time coordinators.

I like Napier. He’s got the Mario Cristobal work ethic (almost) and I think he understands cfb and how to run a program.

But he’s the OC and he’s got his DC.. those are your 2 prominent roles on staff.. you rarely get position coaches more highly regarded than your coordinators. If that’s the bar… they’re fvcked. Tennessee and Kentucky will have a better staff. Don’t even get started on UGA. Mario in Miami made his job even harder than it already was.

Barring a few surprising hires that are better than I’m anticipating.. I give him 3-4 years of 6-8 wins and he’s gone.

Never understood the hype on Napier. Whats he done, win a bunch of one score games against ****** schools? Decent offensive coach but he is no genius there either and he is going to try and do it without an OC or QB coach helping? Recruiting is where he is pretty good but I dont think there are deep Florida ties.

Hes gonna bust

I’m not going pretend, I don’t know as much about him as you do. But my opinion/impression of him is based strictly on observation and looking at his coaching timeline and results.

It doesn’t go any deeper than that.

You’re right I think he’s an OK coach, and may be in the right situation he might actually be a really good coach. At least from the little knowledge that I have.

But I don’t think this is going to be a good fit for him, he’s not going to get enough time to have a slow 3 to 4 year build so that all the cylinders are firing. This guy seems like a slow build type guy. That’s going to be a pressure cooker up there. At least that’s the way I see it anyway.

Doesn't hurt when you have the best Dline coach in America either.

Still pains me to see Johnson in OSU colors.

There are some rumors Johnson may retire per Menace2Sports podcast ( former buckeye receiver coach)

Jim Leonhard is basically the head coach in waiting at Wisconsin. Don't see how he'd leave for a DC job, regardless of salary

for the millionth time, he's not leaving Wisconsin. Green Bay from the NFL offered him and said no. He's staying at Wisconsin forever.
For the 10 millionth time all I'm saying is to make the effort. Maybe he's not an NFL type of guy.
