Probably didn't like the environment. Brooklyn Dee has alluded to several times that the coaches are terrible.

Tweed is Tae going to stay at Deland or do you see him giving Mainland another shot.

I don't get why any of these kids go to IMG. What's the allure? Other than a fancy stadium and workout facility. I would rather be THE MAN at my local high school and live a normal life.

For a kid that's an average recruit and wants more exposure, I could see why. For a guy that's more highly coveted, I don't understand it. Not trying to knock Hightower or take shots at Dee, but I don't understand why Hightower went to IMG. He was already a known commodity and highly recruited. Him going to IMG meant **** to me because that kid's tape screamed must get at receiver to me.

The whole IMG thing is so wack.

It's not what high school football is supposed to be about. It's a **** academy. It has none of the allure that authentic high school ball gives you. You're not even eligible for the playoffs, so you have zero interest in actually winning anything when you go there.

And if you're good enough to get a scholarship from IMG, then you're good enough to earn a college scholarship while playing at a regular school.

****.. quite the shade being thrown at a school where we have a handful of commits in the next couple classes.

This board never ceases to amaze.

His work there is done. He bullied everyone we wanted into choosing us. Now he gon move on and get some rings. Good for him. Love that kid.

This right here....IMG will recruit you from your local school...so you probably are being recruiting by college coaches as well....makes no sense to me....it does say a lot about whether a player wants to win region and/or state titles..

No one is disrespecting the kids, especially the Cane commits, but I don't get why big name kids want to play there. The offense is terrible and you can't even make a state title run. It feels more like a JUCO or prep school rather than real high school football.

Coach Macho. Coach, can you post a link where I can see the video of the kid in your profile? That’s was some good stuff and I lost tha5 link. Thanks.

some of you need to think about this from the point of view of a HS kid.

There is a place that wants to give you a full scholarship to go to a football school. At this football school, you will supposedly receive the best of everything. Training, coaching, equipment, nutrition, etc. I know I would have jumped at the opportunity to go to a prep school for hockey when I was their age.

What does throwing shade at the school have to do with our recruits? And it's not the school I hate, it's the concept.

I consider high school football a beautiful thing. Kids grinding together for years to pursue an ultimate goal. Watching them all grow together as young men. Then you add in the feeling of being at a big rivalry game, that "Friday night lights" feelings, the whole town shutting down to come watch the game, etc. Winning that big game and walking through the hallways on Monday with all your peers giving you props. Walking into local businesses and having people congratulate you. Watching a kid physically and mentally grow up from his Freshman year, blossoming into a young man and earning a scholarship.

The whole process is just amazing to me.
That's what HS football is all about. You don't get that with IMG.

Except they're not getting the best coaching, and I'd be ****ed if I moved all the way to IMG to have a kid like Pickowski passing me the ball

My kids both did something similar so let me comment. The idea is that by going to an "elite" setting you will get better coaching, you will train with better competition at better facilities. Thus, you should get better sooner. If your top end is very high you will get there. Now, I am not saying that every program give the student that but I do know that some do. IMG started as a tennis program. It produced excellent results. Players from all over the world came to train and compete. I think the idea may be better in individual sports because you do not rely on teammates and can advance independent of others. But, in Europe the top professional football clubs all have similar programs..........

IMG is the test tube baby of HS football.

I get the feeling people get sucked in by the name IMG. Then they get there, and it's a **** experience with average coaches, no playoffs, no real rivalries. Antiseptic.

Might make sense for a kid from a rough area to go there on scholarship to avoid distractions. Other than that, regular HS is the way to go. These kids should be enjoying those years, not working at the factory that IMG is

Just have Pete ask the commits why they are there. We have some committed. Do you think he should ask in a negative manner like this thread?
