Sun Life Stadium

People like to **** about it, but in reality the only major drawback is the distance from the field. Parking is better, tailgating is better, bathrooms are better, food is better, replay/jumbo trons exist...

The most amusing part to me is the people that want to talk about atmosphere, comparable to the OB and always leave out that Miami had great teams for a decade plus in the OB. How was the "atmosphere" during the last game vs UVA???

Sorry to thread jack but I will strongly disagree.

As a student from 2003-07 my experiences were always better in the OB than No Life. No Life offers nothing in terms of home field advantage and this is the biggest issue I have with the No Life stadium. We have no game day experience for 85-90% of the games.

07 the experience in the ob was horrendous outside of the tamu game. We couldn't beg ppl to go to those countless noon games

I actually graduated in May 07 so I didn't attend many games that year. The point still remains, there was an atmosphere in the OB. There is no atmosphere in the No Life.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. IMO it's easy to remember the great atmosphere games because of the run they had and the length of time in the OB. There were countless days with games vs teams like San Jose St. and ECU where the place was dead.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to still be playing in a modernized/upgraded OB, but it is what it is.:crownpour:

I love the OB and see your overall point, but there was absolutely no atmosphere for any game besides TAMU that year. For example, I'm looking back to the Nc. St. game where Kirby went 1-13, and I am struggling to remember any sort of game day vibe or atmosphere that day.

Apparently the tailgating at SLS is still good since tons of our awesome fans would rather spend their whole Saturday getting ****** in the parking lot than actually going inside and supporting the team.

I want more than anyone for Miami to get their own stadium. If I had my own way, Orange Bowl would be rebuilt. But just for argument's sake, what are the pluses, benefits and good things about Sun Life Stadium? I have never had the chance to go there so I'm really interested in what the students and fans who go to the stadium think of the place. I've heard plenty of negative stuff so it would be nice to hear some good things about it.

This may be the shortest thread in the history of CanesInsight. lol

And there was no atmosphere last year at No Life besides UF. My point isn't to go back to the OB, my point is that we need our own place that is for our needs alone.

I am not advocating for reviving the OB, that is a dead issue. I am advocating for getting out of No Life ASAP and into a stadium that better fit our needs.

And I absolutely agree that we need our own stadium. I just don't agree that a half empty OB had anymore game day vibe or mystique than any other half filled stadium like I thought you were implying.

They could staff it with the hottest hookers who worked the games for free and it would not be as exciting as the OB. Oh it is more comfortable, unfortunately, that is especially true for the other team. No home field advantage for anyone.

No it is more than that. This is not going to go anywhere so agree to disagree.

I miss the "No Blockee" / "No Bloquee" signs soooooo much

Don't forget the delicious Rat Kabobs and Arepas available on every corner!

Back to SLS. One unique thing about it is the access to not only in-stadium beer but hard liquor as well. That's one of the rare qualities that many opposing fans are envious of as most college venues are completely dry. Might not actually be a net positive but some of the concourse bars seemingly have more life than the stands. I also think the police that work the games for the most part are extremely fan and tailgate friendly. Some other places like a certain non bowl qualifying school to our north feature local cops that are complete jerks and think they're also being paid to act as ushers with arresting powers. I'd be hard pressed to think of any actual game related pluses of SLS though. Big scoreboards? Nice locker rooms for the kids?

Oh, I know. I saw that nasty *** blue in the picture. I was just joking. As a continuation, since it was a UF game there was lots of pu$$y there. Not the kind anybody in their right mind would want though.

I like 35K folks at a game...easy to park, easy to leave...and good cane folks..when the other 25K show up they are 75% ******s and drunk ********

there is nothing good about SUNLIFE the Dj sucks with his SOBE/pitbull bull****...parking is way to high for **** games...

When you win, people will attend games. When people attend games, the game day experience is better. When the game day experience is better, there is a decided home field advantage. When there is a decided home field advantage, Consigliere is happy. Win games and Consigliere will be happy.

Thought this was the beginning of a Direct TV ad.....
