Can you imagine Hightower, Pope, & JT4 next year? Then Harley, Evidence, Wiggins, Payton, etc? Wheew!!!!!
whats the obsession with position switches?
You would think you would want your quicker guys in the slot to create mismatches but hey we had David Njoku in the slot doing the same thing and that worked out very well for us.I like Ezzard in the slot. That's the kind of ingenuity Id like to see more of on our offense.
I know Mallory will be there, but I'd like to see them use Cager in that role as well. You would think you would want your quicker guys in the slot to create mismatches but hey we had David Njoku in the slot doing the same thing and that worked out very well for us.
Mallory can definitely fill that role, he’s more advanced and ready than njoku coming in tooI know Mallory will be there, but I'd like to see then use Cager in that role as well.
You can’t coach scared. You have to coach to your team’s strength. And ours is our insane allotment of skill depth and talent.
If you have a couple 3 and outs then so be it. It’s then the defense’s job to force a couple 3 and outs.
Spread em out and increase the tempo. Then gash the fck out of them in the run game like Briles. Spread. Increase tempo. Stay balanced in the run game.
Yeah, when I watch coaches interviews its Hightower that gets top praise. One of Richt interviews last week he said hightower was the only one he would trust on the field right now. Gave all the freshman wr's high praise though, just seems Hightower is more consistent with his assignments and running the right route.Hightower has been getting some high praise too
Tempo is not the friend of defense of either team. Once your defense get tired, it becomes a long game.
Well, I said 'at times', I dont think Richt will ever become Chip Kelly or Art Briles but what really isn't the friend of defense is one that can't get off the field consistently on 3rd downs and lets drives linger.
But in my view, with solid QB play this is an offense that should regularly put up 35-plus points a game(and I dont mean putting up 70 on Bethune Cookman and the like to skew the averages) and it should be one that pushes things, not just in tempo but in approach - let these thoroughbreds run
I'm not really obsessed with it just thinking about how stacked the WR depth is and will continue to be after each recruiting class.
But Ezzard is a beast i've been high on him at WR since we got him.... reminds me of Andre Johnson in terms of physicality and athleticism. I want him to play on the outside but he does bring a different impact at the slot.
