Style of Offense This Season

I have little doubt the offense is going to vary week to week as the offense matures. I think you'll see a lot more up tempo play at home to 1) keep the crowd in the game (less important) and 2) use the heat of S FL to our advantage. I imagine things will be more toned down for away games to help take the opposing fans out of the game and grind out wins. Last year Golden specifically mentioned transition to 2 TE formations

I remember Golden last year referred on hurricane hotline to the offense as "tempro".. where we could go with a quick tempo and still operate a pro style offense. I guess this was to give it an identity to sell to recruits or whatever.

Recently I have heard Coley use the same word of "tempro" style offense, but also emphasize that we could go fast or slow, I would think we will try to handle clock a little better at certain points. We seemed to struggle with the four minute style offense last year where we have to take the air out of the ball, I think UVA and NCST come to mind. Will be very interesting to see, I still think we will have no huddle aspects incorporated into our O, and I hope we keep it, Gives us an exciting brand of offense and the recruits love it

Do you think the physical strength of the team may have had something to do with the offense. Smash mouth may be different this year with the numbers we are seeing!!

I expect every game this year to go something like this on offense:

Dude, I couldn't rep you enough for this analogy.
Blitzkrieg. Roll over their asses on the ground and in the air.

His style is an embodiment of the man. The team will take on the personality of the coach.

He wants to impose his will on the other team and crush them physically. Its the way he practices, its the way he recruits, its just the way the guy is.

Do we have the personnel to do it? Maybe, RB wise. But at the same time he and Coley aren't idiots. They know the weapons they have so they aren't just going to revamp everything

Aren't we supposed to have one of the biggest/best lines in the country? And 7 or 8 starting-caliber linemen?

Let's take a page out of Wisconsin's book and bulldoze some teams:

The thing is we also have a senior QB (who may grow into a 1st round pick), 5 above average WRs (at least 3 of which are likely NFL players) and play in a league where spreading the field is rewarded.

Coley has to be able to mix and match while keeping a steady identity. If he does that, everyone wins.

Miami's smack dab in the middle of the area that produces the quickest, fastest kids in the entire world - and 2nd place is not close in this department. I love the thought of being able to bulldoze teams, but strategically it makes more sense - to me - for our identity to get wide open and utilize the waves of bad *** WRs and RBs that the area produces. If you can do that while also having 5 guys that go 6'6" 315 then awesome, let's be capable of going hammer time when needed also.

Remeber Coley saying he wants to be able to do any tempo at any time, so I think we'll see different speeds. Whatever we do we need to be able to run more plays each game. 68 plays a game is just poor, no matter how many big plays you have.

More than anything, I just want to see Morris shred 8-in-the-box defenses all year long.

EDIT: Like Russell Wilson did at Wisky.

We no longer run on the fastest tuff in college football, the Orange Bowl. Now we play on the Fin's field. Do they have a ton of fast players--NO! When they were in the OB they had more speed too. Tall grass negates speed like wet grass does. The OB had the shortest grass out there. Until we get our own house, our natural old speed advantage that we historically used to such great effect, is almost useless. We always lose in the Feista Bowl. I bet that field has taller turf than the Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl, the two places we have won NCs besides the OB. Of course back in the day, we bet the crap out of everyone on their own tuff too, but we had pro bowlers then. I remember sideline reporter, back in the day, in Talla comenting pregame about how short the grass was. Then he said the only shorter turf was in Miami. Let's hope the stupid Marlins move and THE U gets that stadium to remake.

There are a lot of assumptions in your post.

good to know that its actually the field turf that determines who's faster...even though BOTH teams have to run on it. Thanks Einstein.

I agree with the overall premise of the OP but it aint gonna be Dillard toting the rock

would be surprised if that guy ever plays a meaningful down at RB here

What was mighty Wisconsin's record bulldozing everyone last year? Fvck that Big 10 mentality when you've got WRs and RBs growing out of your ******* down here. Teams like Wisconsin resorted to that **** because they couldn't recruit any QBs or WRs, but they had access to gigantic OL, who can only move forward.

Exactly! UM is loaded offensively, and can do whatever the **** they want to do on offense. DCs will have nightmares trying to stop UM this season.

WRs maybe not, but they went to the Rose Bowl when they had a solid QB.
