We'll miss Strong's recruiting. He definitely provided a heck of a one year haul at that position this year. However, glad they didn't promote him to DC just for that.

The defensive side could use an upgrade in recruiters. And now it just lost its best one.

You can’t let him handpick his staff if he’s going to go the way of Enos and bring in a bunch of recruiting duds. The hire to replace Strong has to be a recruiting superstar.

I took the Guidry hire as a sign that maybe Cristobal is looking for innovators as coordinators, hopefully at OC too, and will get away from the grinding offense he's preferred in the past.

Yep he was Strong's guy that he brought up through UL and with him to USF. The Guidry connection is only McNeese... kinda why I expected Strong to stick around.

Strong is a good coach, I'm sure he will have plenty of offers if he doesn't have a spot at UM or Alabama.

Getting let go from UMass, arguably the worst FBS job there is, probably isn't doing him any favors. He may have gave it up.

The more I research him beyond the connection to Strong and Guidry the more I lean to avoid it.. red flag being out of coaching, doesn't seem like a great recruiter anyway.
