I agree. thats kinda point I was getting. you dont make it the priority. you show them I can get someone as good as elsewhere who wants to be here. I dont buy the winning argument w locals tho. too many people around them looking out for themselves.
Winning is the biggest factor. Just look around college football. Kids aren't going to Clemson, Ohio State and Alabama for the academics and cultural scenery.
Someone posted that kids want to go to the hot schools. The schools that are winning. That's the truth. The teams getting to the CFP and winning championships can just keep the recruiting wheels spinning.
Otherwise, USC, UCLA, U Washington and Miami would have had top 5 recruiting classes for the past 20 years.
The SEC invested in football and used the bag to get the engine running. Now, it just runs on idle.
When the winning falls off, the recruiting falls off and vice versa. When the winning improves, the recruiting improves and vice versa.
We're in a unique situation where all the stars are lined up.
The Admin is heavily invested in football.
We have our HC and one of the best coaching staffs in the country.
We have a fairly light schedule with just enough challenges.
A great season will push us over the top closing out the 2023 recruiting cycle and create even more momentum with 2024 recruiting.
