Only tracked most of the 2nd half on gametracker. Glad we won but we have to pull away from these types of teams. Team looked lazy on defense especially in transition.

Daniels- the backup PG we've been waiting for. Kid can drive and dish and score. We will be in great shape there.
Kadji- lousy game. Poor defensive effort, too many jumpshots and turnovers, looked out of rhythm. **** happens.
Larkin- steady Eddie but I wish he would be more assertive at times, especially with DS out for a couple more games.


Not crisp defensively, rotations and getting over high screens were particularly bad, but we started making shots at will in the second half and we hit the O-glass. C or C- type game, we should have beat this team by 15-20.

not to mention stetson was burying shots like it wasnt **** there for a while.

He wasn't lying when he said his vert has improved post-ACL, that seems kind of absurd but it's true.

Forgot to comment on him. Love the way he played tonight.
 
Only watched parts of the game. Bishop Daniels looks pretty good. Probably the second best attacking guard on the team behind Durand (which is something we desperately need), has a nice stroke, and the kid can fly.

Maybe ESPN3 has some say in that, since the games were both "televised?" Just a guess.

Speaking of the women, they beat UNF, 77-24. Yes, North Florida only scored 24 points. Total ownage.
 
This is a captain obvious post, but we are really missing Durand right now, and it shows, especially at the offensive end. Thankfully we play 3 nobodies before he comes back. Losing Grant and Jones by themselves was not a big deal, but adding those losses to not having Scott right now and we're not crisp offensively. We did a much better job in the second half of closing out the 3 ball, but still need to do better.

Coach L needs to tell RJ, every time you shoot a 3, you can't eat a hamburger for a week. Seriously, he needs to stop. Kadji needs to cool it on 3s as well. RJ also, and I don't know why I thought it would be different after 3 years, can't make layups over 6-5 white guys. It's amazing how many easy layups he bricks. I'm not talking misses, I'm talking gets nothing but backboard. He'd easily be a 20+ per game guy if he made the easy shots.

I still think this team can be good, but they need to show they "want it" more.

I work with Stetson's old b-ball coach. We needed to win this one for me.
 
The only thing I will say in the team's defense is Stetson shot 42% from 3 pt land.

Some quick thoughts:

1. Reggie please stop shooting 3s. You have a good low post game and that is where you are a threat.

2. 19 Assists to 11 TO pretty good.

3. Rebounded well (38-28)

4. Durand Scott will be back soon

Not worried about this team yet, keep winning and improving.

Final thought: Not the best first real game. I hope it is just the team believing the hype too much. We should have won by 20.
