stephen morris

Stephen's issue is between his ears during live action. It is only 1 play, but there was a 2nd and 6 in the 2nd quarter. He was pressured (as usual this game) and breaks contain. He gets the edge and instead of running for 4-5 yards and stepping out of bounds, he throws the ball away.(tougher runners would have gotten a 1st down) So instead of 3 and 2 it was 3-6, which we obviously failed to convert. Not a big deal in grand scheme, but just makes you question his thought process.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Ryan Williams didnt get a few series here and there, especially when Morris was hobbling around.

I am the eternal optimist I look for the good in any situation. In this case the good thing is he will never take another snap for The Canes.

You can't teach guts and heart and Morris lacked both. Some will say he was tough because he played hurt but what i am talking about is running out of bounds when we needed a yard on 3rd down or even 4th. Don't tell me his teammates respected him when he never would sacrifice his body for a yard. Morris bought into his own hype and that is his downfall. Poise, vision, football IQ, touch when needed, awareness when to check off or use his feet when we needed 3 yards for a first down, Morris is lacking in all these aspects of QB play. Losing never bothered this kid you could see it in his reaction after games.

Stephen was a Top 10 QB when Jedd Fisch was coaching him. It's amazing how poor coaching, play calling, and schemes can affect a college football player.

he also had Mike James, Miami became completely one dimensional when Duke got hurt and Morris couldnt hold up that end of the bargain

It's a process that needs to be processed before we can fully process exactly what the process is processing.

Here's a good read on what we've been seeing and have said all along with Morris.

Interesting article. So what happened? Did Coach Coley stray that far from Fisch's offense that important parts of it were forgotten, or did Morris stray from what he had learned?

Will the NFL put Humpty Morris back together again? If he isn't drafted and gets a free agent shot will there be enough time for him to show enough potential to be kept for further development? They didn't keep Tebow.
