Stephen morris ran this team into the ground

This may be one of the dumbest posts I've ever read.

The defense looked better earlier in the season because they were playing against crappy offenses. If this defense actually quit because they didn't think Stephen Morris was any good, then that's ANOTHER reason why the defense sucks. There is no valid excuse for getting burned out or quitting in football.

You're probably going to regret wishing Stephen Morris was gone. He may be inconsistent, but he is still the best QB Miami has had since Dorsey. Ryan Williams couldn't beat him out even when Morris playing on one leg, what makes anyone think Williams will actually be better?

So you are crediting a lousy coaching staff for picking the best QB?
Failed logic.

Mike 32, Good post. You are 100% accurate on your feelings on Morris. No poise, no football IQ, does not understand yardage and distance, will throw 30 yards down field in double or triple coverage instead of throwing a soft catchable ball to his back or fullback, gutless and afraid to lower his head and run two yards to move the chains. To run out of bounds and not help his team pick up the first down is a crime. Canes are leading 17-7 and driving and Morris tries to drill a ball into tight space instead of taking what the D gives and we all know the outcome interception. Could have been 24-7 but Morris ***** the bed. The pass he made from the end zone if he leads the Wr thats a TD but he threw it low and a little behind the WR who i believe was Hurns. Instead of 95 yard TD the canes fail to score. The canes defense is putrid but the canes QB is a long way from blameless.

Yeah, I forgot about that throw. It was Hurns and there was nobody left to make the tackle if he throws it accurately. And BTW, it would have been a 99 yarder. Some might consider that a momentum changer.

Ya... It's his fault.

How many of those yards were a 1 yard pass that a WR made into a big play? How many times did Morris complete a 3rd down pass? How many blitz packages did he read and make the correct throw? How many times did he run back when he was being blitzed? As the one guy pointed out, he runs out of bounds instead of trying to fight for the 1st down? Sorry but that doesn't scream "let me lead you" which is what a Sr. QB should be.

Guy believed his clippings to much after the Manning camp. Period. He went to caring about Morris 1st and team 2nd.

Once again this guy is doing whatever he can to get his post counts up by posting nothing but drivel. Where in this thread has anybody tried to place blame on Stephen Morris? As I stated I will take the 370 yards he threw for, but I wanted to see him get 2 more rushing yards and pick up that first down. I also didnt' need to see him not only lose two yards by running out of bounds rather than throw it away but also throw the ball at the defender to draw the 15 yard penalty. The guy doesn't play with any poise, he seemingly never has any sense of the game situation, and simply doesn't seem to care. Nobody is blaming Morris for the loss but he certainly didn't do what needed to be done in critical situations to help them win. Not a leader, looking forward to him leaving. I cannot stand to see our starting quarterback laughing it up on the sidelines during a loss.

when you see the stat that he and jacory are all time yardage greats...you know we are in trouble

Obviously the D played God awful and deserves blame but all year Morris has just been terrible. Not statistically in some games but the little things. Even in the game yesterday, on the play from our 1 he should have led the WR towards the open side of the field and that play is a TD, instead he throws in back towards the CB where the WR has to stop to catch it. The 15 yard penalty by him is completely unacceptable. His constant throwing into double coverage was unbelievable and his pure (IMO) coward play is pathetic. No heart form your leader just wears on a team and I believe this has been an issue for us this year.

In all fairness to the OP he is correct in some spots. Morris is not the right guy for this system, but he isn't the reason for this defense being this bad. He is all over the place with his passes.

You're wrong on the fact that they played crappy offenses and that's why they looked good. Still gave up a ton of yards to all those teams they just didn't get scored on. Also the last two O we have played have been some of the worse in the country.
Ryan Williams is a better QB for this system, look at what he has done when he has got his chances. He doesn't have the arm to throw 70 yard passes but he doesn't look only at one wr and throw either. He also has the touch to get the ball to the playmakers 5 yards down the field and let them do the rest. Morris cant do that.
