Stephen Morris Football IQ

I think he's come a long way already and at this point could just as easily take the next step or plateau. He's got all the tools and so far we've only seen him get better.

As far the "it" factor, I haven't seen him lose us games or inhibit us (I.e. winning with a game manager), he shows leadership, moxy, poise, and as we saw in the past - he can lead a big rally for a comeback victory. Other than a Tebow or RG3, what have other junior qbs shown that Morris hasn't in terms of having "it?" the kid is a shining example of solid talent receiving good coaching and actually developing. If he continues, the sky is the limit.

The biggest thing I see with him is footwork. It often makes him inaccurate in his short to intermediate throws and may even have something to do with his reads.

Completely agree that the responses in this thread are some of the most well reasoned in a while.

I AM VERY GLAD HE IS BACK NEXT YEAR TO BUILD ON THE GREAT FINISH HE HAD TO LAST SEASON

MY BIGGEST WORRY WITH MORRIS IS ALWAYS HIS ACCURACY ISSUES ON SHORT AND INTERMEDIATE THROWS

I'd be elated if he could get to his 2nd read efficiently and consistently. The guy is a classic case of being ****ed by the Randy Shannon era.

He should be a rising junior.

IDK if it all falls on Morris, but he is the leader and I recalled several times I think, where we jumped out to a nice lead early and then we let up instead of keeping our foot on the gas and finishing them off. Even if we end up winning a shootout and it makes for a good Raising Canes episode, it should've just been a blowout in our favor sans the drama. I was at the GT game and this was the case.

I'd like to see Morris take command of those situations and turn a 17-0 1st quarter lead into a 31-3 halftime lead instead of 17-17 because we started going 3 and out multiple times after jumping out to a lead.

All I can say is Morris is better than EJ Manuel and D[]_[]KE is better than any back in the ACC. Our O-Line is best in the ACC IMO. WRs are young and talented, just need to fix the drops. Don't think OC change is a viable excuse if we under perform offensively next year.

I'm not sold on the Clemson offense. I think our offense will be the best in the ACC and if Boyd is a Heisman candidate then Morris will be also.

I think he has more weapons this year and he is going to kill it. Can't wait till the TE's are brought into the mix. 10 win season.

And we had a TE emerge at the end of last year and have the top Juco TE coming in.

I expect our offense to take a leap.

esto. i wish we had Morris for 2013 AND 2014.

i don't know if it's possible, but can we designate a redshirt for Morris' sophomore season when he played one game (the first one vs MD)?

Morris actually played in 5 games in 2011. Got PT against Bethune, UVA, Duke, and FSU
