I agree. The only TE that we can really count on next year is maybe Brevin and he's a true FR. We could definitely use another guy.

FWIW I love Mallory, but he's coming off an injury and probably needs to get a bit stronger. And I hope Irvin and/or Polendy surprises, but it seems unlikely.

While we're at it, is there a grad transfer DE available? Our depth there is scary.

And it affects 2019 recruits because every transfer counts as an intial counter. That means for every transfer that we get, it reduces the number of initial counters we can back count to the 2018 class via guys early enrolling. Right now the maximum we can sign in 2019 is 28. If we get another grad transfer (who barely plays for a year), then it will have a direct cost of us only being able to take 27 in 2019.
So no, we do not want any more transfers. And If we did get a transfer, the ONLY position it should be at would be DE where we only have 5 ******* players. We are good at TE, we have 4 guys.

May not happen but as one poster stated some of the "dead weight" needs to transfer out from the current team roster.

Actually it always happens. Every year we (like every program) have lots of guys leave. It can be that they want to transfer for more PT, or they get can in trouble/flunk out, or they leave for the NFL. Significant attrition is the norm for college football these days.
