Stefan, CIS Staff or others regarding USF transfer TE

Not Needed.

And just as a reminder for everybody, every person we add has a direct cost of 1 2019 recruit. We already have 2 transfers incoming. Thats likely enough.

If Jordan would have been and EE or Irvin would have shown more last year I would agree totally. It is an "iffy" situation to me personally. Also some of the players that have been riding the bench for years and likely to do so the rest of their playing careers at the U if (big IF) one or more would transfer out we could add some of these short term players who would see playing time and help us..

I don't know about you guys but I don't see a pressing need for a transfer TE with the two freshman TEs.

Key word in freshmen. Mallory is only 215 pounds--receiver this year at times- yes--.3 down TE for blocking no.
Jordan at the LA Nike last year was 6-3/257 has speed and is physical but in experienced that may hurt early in the year. He was not an EE so that hurts early in the year.

If Polendey is bigger that the 230 at 6-6 last year then will have a blocker as he will know the program and was physical blocker in HS but major college football is a little different. Sill I believe Polendey must be much bigger than last year as Rousseau gained 15 pounds in one month here in the S&C.

If he's a beast bring him in!

Have him here for one year while young guys learn.

Don't want him in Tallahassee.

Kids a legit 6*5 running a 4.5-4.6 he could be a mismatch problem with little health issues or anything just was in a bad offense at USF that didn’t showcase his true talent

Irvin and Polendey showed nothing last year. Mallory is too small to contribute as a blocker this year and relying on Brevin who won't show up in fall to be a blocker isn't a sound decision. (no knock on Brevin but blocking schemes for freshman are always the hardest thing to pick up)

Ideally Irvin or Polendey have made major strides. If not sign this kid up.

He is a grad transfer who has one year of eligibility left. How does that affect a 2019 recruit??

We have 5 scholarships left and we should be scrounging the grad transfer market

I can see the argument for and against taking this kid. However, if we accept a grad transfer TE prior to another grad transfer DT, this board will lose its ****!

I actually think this is a need. As I alluded to in my Homer post, we need a physically-ready body to help at TE until the stud freshmen get some S&C and conditioning. I'd take him if we have the space.

Agree.

He’s a take. Can’t trust Irvin. Without the name he’s a JAG. Brevin will be ready but he’s still a TrFr and injuries happen. Mallory is coming off injury and probably will need a shirt. Not sure what to expect from Polendry but he’s not in the same league as Dillon. Go get em!

You're completely wrong.
We have 3 Scholarships left.
And it affects 2019 recruits because every transfer counts as an intial counter. That means for every transfer that we get, it reduces the number of initial counters we can back count to the 2018 class via guys early enrolling. Right now the maximum we can sign in 2019 is 28. If we get another grad transfer (who barely plays for a year), then it will have a direct cost of us only being able to take 27 in 2019.
So no, we do not want any more transfers. And If we did get a transfer, the ONLY position it should be at would be DE where we only have 5 ******* players. We are good at TE, we have 4 guys.

True in all cases
