Not saying it is or isn’t Horton but IF it is I will say I’d be a bit underwhelmed with our last 2 pulls..

A top 900 LB/Str from GA
A top 800 DT from GA

Both as very low 3 stars, hopefully this is Zo/Mario diving deep into film and finding the diamonds from the rough but from an outside/national view these are not big time gets.
Don't just be a star rating chaser.

There are many high school players that go under the radar every year for various reasons such as they didn't go to camps, they play for small schools, or are just a late bloomer.s their senior year.

I trust Mario and Alonzo to evaluate talent.

Don’t be dumb. Look at statistics. Bama and UGA are star chasers. I’d rather be them than listen to you

Not being dumb. Obviously we want elite players. By star, I mean star rating. The DT is being pursued heavily by UGA and we could lose him.

OP was just looking at the ratings which when you get outside of the top 250-300 is just guessing by these rating agencies.

There are so many variables in how a recruit will turn out
It’s a numbers game
And it’s about stacking the odds in your favor
And time and time again
It has been obejectively shown that the more stars you have the higher the chance that they don’t bust
It’s just simple statistics
So you signifincantly increase your chances of success with having more stars
There are always outliers but like the name implies they are the exception not the norm

Let's not confuse things.

We obviously want the top players and we have a bunch of them. You're not going to fill your entire roster with 5-star or even 4-star rated players.

The issue from the post implied the 2 players rated in 800's and 900's are not worthy of recrutment. Nothing to be excited about.

This is just conjecture based on recruiting services that I would argue are accurate to perhaps the top 300 at best.

Just for reference DT Darrel Jackson who sadly just transferred from UM to FSU was the #706 2021 recruit. He will likely be an NFL round 1-3 draft pick.

The coaches see film and and can evaluate better than a bunch of guys getting paid to run a website.

Totally
Im just tired of mediocrity and this season fully exposed Mario’s corching
So my only silver lining is recruiting
And it’s not good enough to make up for the poor coaching we saw this year
I always felt dline was the most important posterior in college football esp elite dts
when we were good we had elite dts stacked up
