Starting Defensive Backfield in a few years

B Harris also made that huge 4th down tackle against Clemson back in 2010. My favorite play of that entire season

So we get a few good dbs and folks automatically write off Finnie and Gunter smh...I mean seriously outside of Howard which other cb could start over Gunter or Finnie. Now at Bush, Jenkins, Carter, and Burns lineups at safety I agree, what's being said about the starting corners don't see it

Agree that Finnie could be another guy that could/should make a monster jump in confidence and production. Assuming his strength numbers are up, he could be our best CB.

I have a feeling that by the end of the season, our best 3 CB's will be Howard, Gunter, and Crawford. I was sold on Crawford after his showing against Malcolm Lewis last year.

The best thing about Deon Bush is that we can use him like we used to use Sean Taylor (RIP). Play our base D even when the other team goes 3-wide, and just walk Bush down to the slot receiver and not worry about having to go Nickel D. Let me qualify this by saying I'm not making the Sean Taylor comparison to Bush...they're different players. I just think we can have that flexibility with Bush in the game at FS.

This is a great problem to have--now, these guys just have to develop, fight it out, and let the cream rise to the top.

This is the spot we want to be in. Quality athletes having to ball out at Greentree to see the field on Saturdays. We are getting back to where we were in the late 90's early 2000's, I hope.

I like Finnie a lot, not sure why I always forget about him, I could see him being a good Nickel CB as well.

I envision the 2013 secondary looking like this:
CB: Howard
CB: Crawford
Nickel: V. Davis
Dime: Dortch/Hope
FS: Bush: love his speed at FS
SS: J. Carter: Kid is already nearing 200 pounds: likes to hit could be a plus in run support

I would agree with this line up with Dortch/Davis/Hope being interchangeable at the nickel bag...I mean corner. Trying to envision where Artie Burns lines up. Guess that is a good problem to have.

The only problem is there are a lot of them.

That is a good problem to have, but as a result I would think that some of them will redshirt to create one year of separation between this large group of DB's.

Nate Dortch and Vernon Davis a few years down the line might be ones to keep an eye on.

I fully expect Howard to be starting by end of the season.

overall alot of talent, cant believe the job golden has done, were gonna be over that hump soon and turning that swag on all day lol

That same strong backfield we're accumulating - it's going to make our QB's and receivers a **** of a lot better.

In addition to that some of these guys aren't going to remain dbacks. I can envision some ending up at linebacker. Some of them will undoubtedly make the move to the other side of the ball. The common denominator for all these young cats is that they have speed and are space players. Overall foot speed improves the entire team.

I don't see any of the kids we have at DB right now ending up at LB. We are building the depth we should always have at Miami. With the talent in South Florida there is no reason for us to send out a secondary like we did last year.

its crazy how bad the secondary will be THIS year compared to how good in gonna be in a couple years

Can it be worse then last year? I think we will see some improvement this year. Think Finnie, Rodgers make a little jump, thought Gunter looked good in the Spring.

Impossible.

That was a **** show of epic proportions.

I still can't believe we let Logan Thomas complete 99.9% of his passes.
